Bye bye V8s

Quiet stock but I want it in silver with black interior.
Black interior gets really hot.

I had 4 variations of silver/grey exterior and 3 variations of black, medium and light grey interior. The light grey interior was really the best. Even in summer the light grey stayed somewhat cool especially with the cooled seats. Black still got hot with cooled seats. That initial few minutes getting in the car with hot seats sucked.

That red looks really nice though.

The red looks amazing I’ve just already seen the seats start to stain black with under 10k miles and I know it would royally piss me off lol. Lexus never made cooled seats worth a damn in any model I have tried yet. Heated works great though witch is not what I need in TX often lol.

I had a 07,10,12 and 15 IS250AWD and the seat coolers always worked well. It blew AC strong through the perforations. Enough that the sand that would fall in would get blow out LOL

The black interior took longer to cool and was always hot when I first got in on a hot day. That's why I would suggest lighter seats.

still dont get it bout the EV, i know there fun, they tryin to promote it like the big best thing, the market talks all bout em, but damm, they cannot do the trips, even with the mighty Tesla, 280milles and charge for 7 hrs to kept it going, dunno.... old gassers are the real deal, no matter what

why they dont make it like the electric trains, they use a diesel engine to generate electric power to the monster EV motor, to push all the cargo, why dont you do it in a scale to a little car with diesel,

It’s a pipe dream in the long run if we keep pissing China off. They will be the only ones with electric cars lol

Nah, the supply chain is already adjusting to cut out China if needed

Teslas can go from 10% to 80% charge in 30 minutes and their semi can go 500 miles with a load before charging.

With other manufacturers adapting the Tesla charging standard in the US that'll really help adaptation. Plus if the solid state battery development news is legit that'll greatly increase battery energy density and make for shorter stops to charge.

The single standard charging is going to be huge. Full EV s will be the future but not in 5 or 10 years. I see it being the majority in 20ish years.

I wish the focus was more on hybrid as a bridge but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Hybrid and even plugin hybrids give you 40 plus miles a gallon combined and no gas on small, under 30 miles, trips. They should have been offered the same EV tax brakes.

These land cruisers are wild good at holding value. Look at those miles Vs the price you can get a new Lexus GX for that lol https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Use...gK1uvD_BwE#listing=357116143/FEATURED/DEFAULT
YEP!

That 5.7 V8, as far as I know, is an engine that's been perfected and will last 500k if proper fluid charges are done on time. That's why it holds that value, although I think that price is still too high.

Same as those mid 90s straight V6 engines in the Jeeps. Could go forever. I lost my 98 in a hurricane and it only had 125k on it.

Damn! I'll make a note to not drive in a hurricane. The new inline 6 3.0 engine is called hurricane but I think that's more forb Grand Cherokees and other larger stellantis products.

I've got a turbo 4 in mine, hopefully it'll hold up long term. The torque sure is nice, makes the 2 door with 34s feel quick.

(Also lol at straight V6 ?)

Ya I like how Toyota does not just make new engines every 3-5 years. They stick with their product like the airline industry does they just keep on perfecting the same product over and over again. That’s what has me on these final 5.7 liter models is that I know these last ones are going to be as good as it gets. Ya the engines are older and don’t make 550hp with twin turbos but that’s exactly why I want it. People drive into the desert with Toyotas and nothing else for a reason. But at the same time I still want a Jeep srt8 lol those are so badass

LOL

Mine was a Grand Cherokee and yeah that straight 6 was a great engine. Built for military vehicles and it showed.

Hurricane brought enough storm surge for the ocean to push up and wipe out most of southern Long Island

shame that stellantis Bsht is takin down the V8 for the EV, hate that move..... at least 20 years until the EV can be better all around

I just watched Marques Brownlee go over his Tesla roof, energy produced and bills for one year.

I was shocked that it cost him 93k after rebates.

I know it can be done a lot cheaper but the amount of energy the panels would need to pull to cover an EV is crazy.

I think that 20 year prediction for it to be standard is probably right.

I'm not sure if its true but apparently Tesla vehicles will be bi-directional at some point. Currently F150 Lightnings are. This is cool if you have the hookup to power your house in case of an outage.

Most vehicle batteries hold 6-8 times as much juice as the power banks used to power a house.

Yeah I think having an EV that can also serve as a battery backup is interesting. Engineering Explained did a video about that, I believe specifically the Lightening and cost vs powerwall.

yeah i watch it yesterday... 10 years to payback that 120K on that proyect... the issue bout EV (anything) u need to overguest whatever your think is ok in paper... why... cuz the saggy of the non working solar or battery.... battery is the mayor issue (there's nothing wrong), but the weight is the problem

i got a 96 Dodge ram, that i want to convert into electric, for daily... but i will take it from it, around 1000 pounds to weight in, 1200-1400, and 68% is that death weight

if i dont go tesla engina as anyone, (12k for the kit), and use the hyper9($5600), with just 8 tesla packs, it will only give me 100 miles, but it will take 9 hours to recharge
but any tesla pack from model s is 1600 dlls(x8 = $12800 )
or the smalles ones $800(x8=6400) from the tesla smart bat pack, the 52v

soo, is no easy to just jump into it, and drive... unless you buy the brand new EV car, and that case the Bolt or the Prius can help you easily, but noone wants the ladys car... u need the bigger better faster... that's why everyones jump into tesla, cuz that RC car can go faster

i'll stick with V8 until they disapper or i dont live any longer

And dont forget these numbers are only during ideal conditions. If you live in a colder climate like I do, from probably November-March the EV milage will be halved by cold weather. That's not accetable.

What I found shocking about Marques' video was how much electricity he uses on a monthly basis.

It seems like 4 times the amount used by a normal household of 4 or 5. That EV really sucks down juice.

Ill be honest, I don't buy into the EV hype, I don't think people will buy them in mass unless forced. They have too many issues. The Environmental and humanitarian impact of manufacturing batteries and solar cells is being suppressed by the media. To convince the average person to buy a EV you have to leave out a few inconvenient truths.

Another thing that I don't like is the Fires, The temperatures of the fires are mind-blowing. We think of burns in the respect of First, Second, and Third Degrees. Battery fires in Cars leave Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth degree burns... if you survive that is. The fumes are toxic, like really toxic, First responders can not approach an accident with a fire without risking deadly toxic fumes that would kill them in weeks. The batteries and most of the EV and "renewable" technology is not recyclable. It ends up in piles of toxic waste. The methods of mining the rare minerals needed are horrifying as well.
