Changing game modes kills the server

Can you give a map list you want on the HC server?

Well I feel all maps from all DLC and a plugin to allow a vote for 4 random maps would be awesome.

It works very well on the TBG hardcore 24/7 conquest server. I know it will work just as well for you guys as well and will certainly give a lot of the primary TBG players a reason to switch over once they realize there is finally another hardcore 24/7 conquest server in the NA region with map variety.

I would certainly primarily play RC if this all became a reality.

Ya and that's the thing. There are only two NA based HC conquest servers. this one and TBG but TBG remains king in this realm because they have the map variety, map voting and dont switch game modes.

RC could EASILY become a constant competitor if it makes this change.

Friedshrimpy...I feel you. From the day BF4 was released until I came to the AARP Golmund server, I played absolutely nothing but hardcore( 4 years) for those same reasons. Swore that if hardcore was ever gone, I'd stop playing. I don't remember anyone using guided in tanks for hardcore either. At least I hadn't ever used it. Maybe I'm wrong. You forgot to mention that vehicles don't magically fix themselves either. :apathy:

No regenerative health either!

Hi Red, I was wondering what the final verdict on the server change is. It seems like people are excited for it.

Have you guys come to a decision on if there will e a change or not?

First and foremost, ExtremeD gets first pick on server IE maps. He is the sponsor. I advise him on picks but accomdate his requests in the end. There is a lot you guys might not realize about new servers. Too many dlc maps have a tendency to drive populations down because many people don’t have the maps. Extremed contributed a large sum of money to make it happen. So I try to give him the server he likes. He’s about the nicest guy you’ll ever meet.


Votemap - i would have to dig that one up. It’s never I mean never worked well. Players never use it. They just never voted and it becomes a massive spamming mess. Also the votemap can have a tendency to limit the map rotation if memory serves. If that is the case then it will not suit that server. We should strive to have a large map selection.

I’ll look into it when I get some time. The script is sitting sitting on the self all dusty.

Sorry about the admin mix up, I am new here and thought hew as the one I should be talking to. Thanks for clearing that up. As far as the maps go, just to offer my two cents, I was thinking the majority of the players still playing have VIP. there's not a lot of us left all these years after the release. VIP is very common among the players on the game still. That said, I personally feel the caution to which VIP maps can be chosen shouldn't have any weight on the map choice but once again, that is simply my 2 cents. obviously you guys have the final say and I will respect that. The only maps I would personally lean caution toward if i had ExtremeD's role would have to be locker and metro as even though it gets voted for often enough on the other hardcore conquest server, many other players complain about it and will occasionally kill the server if its later at night.

and for the voting, I actually do see it used often on the server I usually play on. usually no more than 10 participate in a vote but that is to be expected. the rest don't care what the map goes to, but I see it as a nicety. Something nice to have for the players who like to vote, and something for the players that don't care to not have to worry about.

Also happy to serve as an Avenger I have however been asked to weigh in so here I go. There was no intention of having the most popular server, or compete with another servers rankings.

So I guess I am coming for a slightly different angle, I ask Jeremy when I think a change is needed, he advises and I normally sit on it a few days. Changing everything on a vote seems drastic to me but I promise I will not complain if you do it.

Create a server for those modes then. I'm trying real hard to reassure the people who play here that I'm pushing for all the maps in rotation and a vote system on maps to play.
If you plan on using ctf, rush,etc...do it on server 2 not the hardcore server.

Id like to see some of the Final Stand maps with snow back.

I hear you bud. I'd like to see Final Stand maps come back in rotation.

I didnt play for about a week and when I decided to play again all the Final Stand maps were gone and with it my interest in playing.

I agree, I like the final stand maps too for HC.

Put them on then, add a few infantry only maps...operation metro and pearl market seems fair. Just a break from the vehicle and arial hawks that dominate and run the server at times. I understand my opinion doesn't weigh heavy in here but it's all I can do.
On another topic, I'm sick of the racial and religious slurs. I cant say coonass but I could say Muslim, jew, nigh and dont get punished...but I dont say them...i do see them on chat lots.

I too am tired of the racial and religious slurs. On the Golmud Map we keep those people weeded out very well. I give them one warning to knock off that shit then it is kick or mute time. As a kick only last a couple of minutes I am starting to use mute more often It is funny to watch the clowns type in chat and die. It is not my place to tell the Senior Admin how to run the game, but in my humble opinion sounds like you need more moderators on the HC Server. So seniors check into it please as very few of us play the HC Server...............STRYKER.

ya, this would be perfect. I know i mentioned metro and locker being the two maps that need caution from being added, but infantry only maps do get voted all the time because people like the break from the vehicles like you said. Pearl is always getting voted for as well. I stand by the infantry maps (as well as the inclusion of all maps)
