Well, my first impression on installing this new monitor was not going very well. Bought it off of Ebay for $160 so the settings must have been off. Was very bright. Did not seem to help my game play as my FPS while server was full was very low between 70-85. Was about to put back into box until I decided to do a reset of the monitor settings. That helped alot! Turned down the brightness a little and looks like my old monitor.

Will work with it before deciding to resell it. Had a hard time figuring out how to get it to work from 60hz to 144hz, but I'm all good now. I believe that the FPS is suffering from low ram speed and maybe due to the fact that my MoBo only has PCIe-2.0 available for the graphics card. Running a ROG Strix GTX1070.

Monitor is a ASUS VG VG248QE 24" Widescreen LED LCD Monitor.

Dont think I can do anymore to this computer setup to increase speed. To get better performance out of the graphics card i would have to replace the MoBo, CPU and the ram. Waste of money just for smoother game play.

Here is a photo of my MoBo manual. My Ram is DDR3 1333.

8bad8, I am using the displayport cable. My FPS never goes above 120 in the game so I dont think I need to limit the FPS. What mode are you using?

I'll record a short segment to show what I'm seeing.

i am using FPS mode ,

each mode need tweak .

when i play bf4 / look great but when i watch hockey and it was super color so still using FPS MODE lol .

there link i add here , it somewhere in there like tweak it till you hit :)

First of all the human eye can only view/process 60 FPS. +/- 20 FPS. Anything above that is pure sales pitch. Old gunny if you need a better monitor I have several 27" ASUS LED monitors that will serve you well. They are yours free of charge minus shipping.

Cheers my brother!!!!

OldGunney , i forgot to add.

for bf4 user.cfg is what i add " gametime.maxvariablefps " so i put 141 . no reason to go above for me :)

Gunney can you post a picture of your task manager while you are playing bf4? Might be able to get a better understanding on what is going on........ I have included a pic of what is should look from my laptop......

Carp, aren't you referring to the 24 fps that the movie and DVD industry adheres to? I can see a small difference while playing now with this faster monitor. You can see a difference while traveling in a LAV looking out a side port. More choppy under 60hz then with this faster one. I do still have my other ACER 24 inch monitor in case I need to go back to it.

Thanks 8bad8. Dont know how that works, but it did keep the FPS down under 100 that I had set. Guess that saves CPU time if it goes over what you monitor is running at.

Wiz, I've got my CPU percentage running on my G15 LCD display and I watch it while running the game. It usually at about 75%. Ram usage is 5 gig.

Ok, looks like the CPU is running between 75% and 85%. I'm thinking that the CPU and the Graphics card is butting heads trying to access memory.

did you turnoff sync ingame and leave on for Nvidia control panel ?

you can get nvidiaProfileInspector.

Keep this running in the background while you game and them look at it after you end a game or tab out.... Please post up what you GPU % and your CPU%

Gunney, you need to go to the advanced settings of the monitor in the display panel in your control panel, soo u can activate the new profile of the hz and increse it

Here's how

Just as suggestion, try 75/80 hz first because your eyes can get tired for the movements

8bad8, I always leave Vertical Sync off, but I goofed up and lost my Nvidia control panel. While in the control panel I clicked on 'disable nvidia in tray'. So now I cant figure out how to bring up the graphics control panel!
