SYMPHONY X - Set The World On Fire

After watching this and comparing images, I think ouchmypeepee is the lead singer of Symphony X :welcoming:

Metal bands went through an interesting transition in the 90s. The music was on point but the melodic singing was still very 80s oriented.

Red, one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE COVERS is Joe Satriani, Grace Potter and others covering Neil Young's "Cortez The Killer" from "The Jammy's" back in the mid 90's i believe. Give it a listen, LOTS of talent there!

One of my favorite bands.

Fat Mike said he may start playing it again at the Punk in Drublic tour.

They had such a miserable time recording the track.

I used to coach comp boys soccer. The age group at the time was 11u boys. In the off season (only a few months) I made my boys play indoor soccer. Think hockey with astroturf and a soccer ball. One morning my assistant coach Kevin and his son pulled up to the arena while I was pumping NOFX. His son got out of the car and said "Great song! Great band!" I looked at him and asked "What in the hell do you know about NOFX?" Turns out his mom was married to El Hefe's sister, Mel. Yep. My assistant coaches ex wife turn lezbo after Kevin could not sling the dick and married a woman, El Hefe's sister. So Mel invited me to a few shows at Slim's in SF. My first time walking into the room backstage saw fat mike exiting the bathroom which was immediately in front of the entry door. He saw me and paused, pointed behind him to the toilet and shook his head signaling that was not a safe place to venture. Amazing show! It was also my introduction to another amazing band "The Real McKenzies".

From arguably the best band of all time, one of my favorite songs from Pink Floyd and I think very apropos to this site...

"Somewhere old heroes shuffle safely down the street"...take a listen to this oldie but goodie...and try not to get a little teary eyed...

dedicated to all the men and women who served our great country and knowing that each of them left a little on the fields...we salute you!

HAHAHAHAHHAA That's a great story. I've seen them at some Warped Tours back in the 90s and maybe early 2000's but never met any of them. Fat Mike seems like a genuine lunatic but in a good way.
