The earth is flat

Does anyone remember the gravitron?

Flat earthers like to say if we were actually a sphere that was spinning everything on the surface would fly off like the way our bodies react inside the gravitron.

Unfortunately a lot of flat earthers are also anti vaxxers.

Skepticism is good uneducated skepticism is bad.

The anti vaxxers are proving themselves wrong.. measles outbreaks in several states in the last few days.

I would never have had the presence of mind to have actually said (but I wish I could have said) to the guy, "No, do tell, but first let me show you some reading material I have on sterilization and eugenics complete with a tear-off sign-up page at the back. By the way, do you have a pen?"

I don't believe in much of anything that runs in the face of broad, time-tested scientific consensus. Hell, even science itself doubles back on itself based on its built-in methodology and reaffirms or discards wayward thinking.

A+ for effort for being a persistent ol' hobgoblin, though.

And, if you work at a tortilla factory, well ... keep an eye out for Mr. Up-and-coming.

The asshole in me thinks, Well, maybe thinning the gene pool ain't so bad a thing--but, obviously, there are pandemic possibilities across a larger population ...

But I'm cautiously optimistic to see such a chink in that otherwise hard to phase denial armor of theirs.

Interestingly, I heard an NPR story about the Hasidim community in NYC--and though they have had issues with vaccination historically, based on a certain reading of scripture/law, even they (or at least leadership) sounded like they were beginning to bend to public health recommendations on the subject. The spokesperson (a top rabbi) said something like, "We won't be having any problems with non-compliance."

Maybe he's planning on tricking them into it?

Somebody should tell him: "Silly Rabbi, tricks are for kids."

(sorry--everything prior to those last two lines was not intended as a dumb joke)

I'd have to agree with the you, Natural selection would take it's course..but as a father of a 2yo and a 3 week old I have to take the cautious approach and say no traveling in the near future.

Maybe the young in me speaks ignorance but I couldn't imagine not vaccinating my child due to the risks of being exposed as a child to such diseases causing possible death.

My kids were vaccinated, but still a chance to catch these diseases due to their age.

Damn Flat-Earthers have fallen into that cesspool where it's ok to think Science is wrong , no matter how overwhelming the evidence. This isn't the only science people deny, just a continuation of stupid because of a "belief" no matter how wrong.

could not agree more! the lack of education is killing us. Imagine a flat earth, defies all logic!

crazy people out there, everyone knows earth is Banana shaped!

You would be surprised at how many people dont know how to peel a banana. Most go for the stem area, but actually its the bottom section. You dont get any strings hanging on the banana there. Even monkeys know that.

Funny, I just had this conversation with a friend. If you look at the way monkeys peel a banana its exactly how you described it. I would say they are experts on the subject. Much cleaner way to peel it.

Great about bananas.. is I get the peels, ground coffee and egg shells put them in plenty of water. And put them in my flower garden excellent fertilizer indeed.
