Okay so first off let's just get it out of the way and say we acknowledge that the rules state to engage ABC and not to camp at the ends of the map.
Tonight in Golmud on RC2, I got admin killed by ElChangoFeo for not having the AA at ABC. I spawned into the AA(RU), saw their AH fighting our AH above E, and E was being captured by the enemy. I drove over to E, killed a jet, then killed that AH, then got attacked by the enemy LAV who just took E. I had to fight him off, killed him, then backed up a bit. I got out to repair and got admin killed. All this happened in no more than a minute, so I certainly wasn't camping anything. I didn't even think that ABC rule applied to RC2 for one thing, and even if it does, we're not allowed to engage anything on the way to ABC? Why would I not go after that AH at E? I didn't even bother getting back into the AA after that. I just want some clarification if what I described broke the rules so I know for next time. Thanks.
Let's be realistic here, if anyone spawned into the AA and saw the enemy AH over E, naturally you'd quickly run over and take it out before it possibly kills your AH and then heads to ABC to cause more damage. The fact that they killed a jet at E too is a bonus. Yes, killing the LAV took more time, however you can blame the blueberry tanks for not only allowing E to be captured but also who were oblivious and unable to assist an AA who already took out 2 air targets at that location.
When I killed you, you were South of the train tracks at E. It wasn't arbitrary, I watched you first and then killed you. Get over it!
If you were in the AA, who just battled an armored enemy, would you 1. Repair in an area where you now know is safe? or 2. Drive into the middle of the tank infested ABC with critical health in the AA, hoping you not only make it there but are actually able to repair it? Considering the E objective is south of the tracks, it'd be kind of hard for them to not be south of the tracks, repairing or not.
If everyone wants to take the rules so literal then keep in mind what it actually says.
They were not camping, they did their job and took out two of the more important air targets while defending E flag. At most they would've had a transport, jet and scout at ABC, assuming the other team was that competent, which we know wasn't the case since the AH was at E.
Would you consider the E flag to be at the ends of the map? Because to me that'd be more like hiding at the sniper's hill or up on the tracks almost near the base.
Yes the rule states to engage ABC, it does not however state that you must blindly ignore any other air targets you may see on the way there. To do that would be absolutely stupid. Aside from jets, the AH is the most lethal air target and they killed 2/3. I'd say they did well, sorry that they weren't sitting in the sacred ABC camping zone when they did it. Overall they seemed to have been doing their job, after that encounter if they stayed at E sure then I could understand you stepping in but from their perspective they were just gearing up to go back into battle.
Also, you may have been promoted recently and have the ability to admin kill but telling someone to "Get over it" doesn't help the problem, if anything it only makes it worse.
