Picked up a new hand cannon recently

I know just enough about guns to laugh at it as a 9 mm

Still working on getting my first gun though.
If I didn't already have a .357mag I would have bought a .45ACP 1911. This 9mm is really just going to be a shooting range gun for me, and 9mm ammo is much cheaper than .45ACP ammo is. Also, the 9mm 1911 holds two more rounds than the .45ACP 1911, so that was also a consideration.

A good debate about ammo is usually entertaining. 17+1 9mm should be more than enough for self defense. 15 + 1 9mm in my conceal carry should be enough as well. Sometimes concerned about 6 + 1 .380 ACP for my pocket pistol. If I decide to do a Rittenhouse, then I would go with the carbine. Ive thought about a nice 10mm for bears, but we don't see many around here.

I'd like a 1911 sometime down the road. But I gave in and got myself a present. Been wanting one of these for a bit. Beretta 92x RDO full size, slide is cut for optics but I don't know I'll ever put a red dot on it. Feels great in my hand, which is one of the reasons I got it. Also installed a stainless steel spring guide cause original was not metal. Trigger is nice from factory. 20231219_124032.jpg

I've loved these Beretta 92's since the Lethal Weapon movies of the '80's/'90's! What's the difference between the 92F and the 92X?
