My 1080 is overkill for the game I spend 99.9 percent of my time (BF4), but I'm also an upgrade whore, and I know it, can't deny it, so I know at some point I'm sure I'll be pulling the trigger for another piece of hardware that I don't need but will be happy to own irregardless.

Are you guys going to pull the trigger on a 2080 series upon release ?

If there is a new game that comes out in the next year that I'm really into Ill probably do a new build. As of now I only play BF4 so my RX480 and i5 work fine. If I do a new build the 2080 is definitely a card I will look at.

I preordered BFV , but that is no excuse to buy a video card.... lol... nor does it mean that BFV will be any better than BF1..... I owned BF4 for years before I even checked out the multiplayer, everyone I knew said it was an impossible unfair game to play and full of assholes and cheats... lol....

I dont think Ive ever played a single player campaign. Maybe for a minute to get used to some settings.

Everyone who told you that was correct :glee::glee::glee:

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I don't trust Nivida on this one. They're doing a lot to suppress actual stats, and are targeting 'partners' who say not to pre-order the Founders Edition. It's super shitty.

Also, Rise of the Tomb Raider, at 1080, can't even hold 60FPS with Raytracing enabled.

Interesting I didn't know that they were doing press control, my 980 and 1080 have been decent cards, I remember when the 1080 came out the stats were not that impressive and the discussion points were around Direct X versions and features not being taken advantage of until DX12... but since I'm already getting 120FPS with a 1080/G-Sync setup on my rig I'll sit back and watch... I am overdue for a new Macbook Pro for work, the game rig doesn't need any attention if I dig deep and think about it.

So annoyed Apple got rid of MagSafe. I broke a Dell tripping over the cord and probably would have broke my MacBook Pro at least 20 times if it wasn't for MagSafe.

Save the $$$ BF4 doesn't need it. 6 months later they'll release a 3090 or some shit anyways then you can get it for BF5. Personally I use the saved cash and visit the massage parlours more often. Happy endings is what life is all about. :glee:

My Gigabyte G1 980's in SLI are soldering on. So far those cards have been rock solid.

Nice!!

Just saw a bunch of YouTube vids on how Nvidia is trying to peddle raytracing as a revolutionary technology but the reviews are all saying that’s the only real difference between IT and the 1080 line of cards. The performance jump is not worth the price difference. Hold off on that buy Raynett!

I, for one, stopped jumping for that latest and greatest tech. Too old and my knees hurt when I jump. :nightmare:
