Looking to build a new PC desktop?

Hi Lode, Thanks for that info! I'll check them out and look around. I have dealt with newegg in the past and never had any issues. I guess things have changed over the last few years! I do like that Corsair 4000D airflow case that whitefish posted. I'm really considering these components for my build: Corsair 4000D airflow case/ B550 tomahawk mobo/ 750watt bronze PS/ 32gb ram/ 5800x 8core CPU/RX6800XT GPU and some other accessories.

I'd check this out for internal storage.

Thanks Fish! I just added that SSD to the order..lol I really appreciate the time you have given me for helping me put together a good PC! Cheers bro!

Unfortunately I have a rather long run of cat5e cable that runs to the back of my house to my shop/mancave. The tech said that I should replace that cable to cat6 to get faster speeds?? Not sure how much more, but I ran a few speed test using speedtest.net, and it shows I am getting around 500mbps download/980mbps upload. Not sure why I am getting like half the download speed as the upload speed? Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced!
I would test the speed again with a computer hardwired to the router. That way you can be sure that you're measuring the speed that your ISP is actually providing you. When I was tech installing fiber optics for Bell, our routers actually had a built in speed test.

cat6 is faster than cat5e and retains speed better at distance. But cat5e is rated for gigabit internet. Also, you would never use anywhere near full gigabit bandwidth to play any online videogame. And even less of the bandwidth is used to upload data. So it's unlikely you actually need to replace the cable.

Side note: Internet speeds are always advertised in bits, not bytes. 1 byte = 8 bits. Megabit is Mb and megabyte is MB.

I would shop around between WD, Kingston, and Samsung SSDs for the best price. For cheaper, I always go with Kingston, for faster I go with Samsung. You might also consider buying a second had GPU, prices are really great for GPUs on the second hand market right now.

I'm really interested in the second hand GPU market and how that will play out with mining rigs flooding the market. I'm wondering how well the cards fare regarding longevity. I'm also waiting to see prices fall even further.

Hiya Dan! I did a test where the pc closest to the modem was around 800-ish MBPS download/ 900plus MBPS upload. Showed me that the length of cat5e I have running to my shop in the back seems to be the issue of being slower. I may try running some cat6 in the future!

So are you talking about used GPU's like on eBay?
