Golmud is coming to BF6

I checked out a few clips, looks like infantry have a lot more options in on around under the train

This looks like good training in the meantime:
Yeah it looks like you can get cover inside parts of the train and it seems to be a lot longer.

Im not a fan how the LB and AH fly. Although the LB felt over powered with rockets as a secondary.

Things coming in 2026 for BF6

Proximity chat (Hopefully we can turn this off or mute anyone on console LOL)

Server browser with persistent servers and custom lobbies. (Somewhat vague but hopefully this means official server rotations too)

Platoons (Awesome)

Spectator mode

Season 4

Naval warfare with Wake Island coming back. (Wake was my second favorite map after Karkand so this could be really fun)

Progress, hopefully with enough time in the oven something palatable comes out.

I hope they allow the 50 cal on jeeps and tanks to actually do more realistic damage to the aircraft and it's occupants. 🫠

Should we create a new thread to find times to squad up?
Yeah once the map drops.

New post with the map and some side by side comparisons to BF4s Golmud

Uuuuuuh Oooooh. They made a change to the way the train works and this could kill the map.

"In Battlefield 6, the Railway to Golmud faithfully improves these moments, starting with the train. Not only does this new railway have several carts with cover, parkour opportunities, and double the amount of engines (one on the end of each train), it also heads towards the enemy headquarters rather towards the headquarters of the team who captured the objective.

“We made this change because in most Battlefield 4 matches, the train mainly remained on one side of the map and did not get any gameplay,” Grepl-Malmgren explained. “So, in this version, the train is now easier to capture back, but also the team holding the objective now has a strategic place to spawn and capture the flag closest to their enemy’s HQ. In playtests, we’re already seeing players ride the train much more than in the original Golmud Railway.”"

Not sure what to think. Definitely will change game play.

Obviously they do not know some players that play on rc1
The reality is, there is no group of players who know the nuances of Golmud better than the regulars on RC1. Some guys have 5000 plus hours on that map alone.

I was really hoping to get an invite to the test environment for it but not dice. I do wonder if they had anyone testing the map and making suggestions that had more than a few hundred hours on Golmud and even played it in the last 5 years.

I think we can say that the gameplay even in the last few years has changed with little nuances. A static map over 10 years old is still evolving and thats crazy.

I know because I dont play BF4 as much as I used to and when I come back for a round or two the game play feels very familiar but slightly different too. I see that as a good thing.

Ill probably play BF6 Golmud a bunch before I have an real comments on it. I think the newness but still some familiarity will feel cool. I think my real opinion will come when that wears off.

Hoping its got enough that we can set up a 24/7, tweak it how we want and still get enough players to have a few full games on the daily.
