There's a special game mode "Air Superiority". There are still a few servers that run it, basically just for the unlock.

I fly the attack helo a lot and never remember getting killed by a ucav. If it only does 65% damage, then how does it blow up an attack helo with 100% health? I understand how it can kill the pilot. Maybe it does more damage to the back of the helo?

No, it's the Airburst that makes it explode in the air.
Exploding in the well above the pilot the damage goes all for him. Just as it is possible to kill pilot with normal weapons.
For soldiers the damage of the ucav with Airburst is 100%, whether it is on the ground or in jets or helis.
Damage varies for each vehicle but does not destroy with vehicle 100 health. , so I can kill the pilot and gunner and the heli is still alive.

Using the airburst above the cockpit can kill the pilot and gunner, but not blow up the helo.

Airburst on the tailrotor can usually make it crash depending on altitude.

A squad of 2 or 3 people with ucavs can all hit the same chopper at once, and leave the impression that it was a single ucav hit.

Me too! They get pissed and tell me to F.O. hahaha

As an UCAV veteran i can tell you this:

Detonate the ucav over the cockpit ( rotor ) and you kill the crew and not the chopper

Detonate it in their windshield or hit the belly of the chopper and you blow up the bird.

Detonate it over a jeep and you kill them all.

Be smart and detonate it over the IED and you get a blast.
