guys,

i was playing tonight and saw something that seemed suspicious with the Attack Chopper.

I never fly it so i am not that familiar with it... Let me explain what I saw and please let me know if it sounds legit or flaky....

So the Attack Chopper killed me 3x in a row and 2 of them were shady. I spawned in at C with an IGLA with a plan to take him down. When I do this, I lock on until they flare. then stay on him until the flare expires, re-lock and fire.

As he approached C, I locked until he flared... then stayed on him until he stopped flaring and I re-locked and fired. As the IGLA approached him he flared again within 2 seconds of the 1st flare expiring and my shot missed. so i reloaded while he flared and aimed again. as soon as his second flare stopped, i re-locked and fired again. again, within 2 seconds, he flared a 3rd time and i missed again. this sequence happened a 4x and he was out of range. all in all, he flared 4x with a minute and i could not kill him.

this rapid re-flaring happened a couple more times.

I thought this was very odd and not seen it before. but before i accuse someone of cheating, i wanted to vet with this group as maybe the attack chopper has something i am aware of...

thoughts?

I have played a lot of hours in the scout heli and just the other day one of our other clan members tought me the the seat switching teqnique, you flair , hit F2/F3 change seats let the other passenger take the drivers seat so they can then use their flair.. amazing , never thought of it before in all the hours of flying... Now in the attack heli that makes no sense unless you had the gunner bail, pilot changed seats while someone else spawned ... that would be the only condition under which that would be possible.. I have seat switched while alone and had a squad member spawn into the drivers seat and once that happpens you are stuck in that seat plenty of times.. The flair is tied to the pilot not the vehicle and in all my hours of driving I never realized that... the seat switch countermeasure I suppose would also work just the same in any vehicle .. otherwise it’s a hack..

That is exactly what Murtada does right to the queue. As we already know is impossible to flare extremely fast as you said impossible especially flying solo.

You're right about countermeasures being tied to the player. I tested it in the test environment. You have roughly 12.5 seconds after countermeasure ends to recharge.

so the player that did this was RedDawg_Leader. could be legit, most likely not.... test him in game and see if he does it for you too.

help me validate if he is legit...

thanks.

Exactly whitefish I am with you 100% I have been preaching on many players known to do that.

I use flairs over the ECM for shorter recharge , you can escape from everything except tank SOFLAM lock-on, of which if you are 100% the hit takes your health down to 9% and you better hope that no more than one tank took a shot while locked or your done ... You have to land and start torching ASAP... Littlebird is small enough to leverage terrain but you have to memorize which rocks / building work and which ones do not... That does sound suspicious as you said and surely you can't pull off the seat switch trick in an attack heli unless the pilot bails out and then the gunner switch seats and picks him up before he hits the ground.. (highly unlikely...)

Interesting

I use ECM but may change to flairs and see if I have better luck at avoidance

For lock-on's from AA or other Helis or stingers I can find no difference , tank lock on's are the only thing you have to worry about, I can make more runs this way , unless it's one of those lock on hell rounds I will change to ECM out of frustration .. my kill count is always higher since I'm not sitting behind a hill hovering waiting for the count down before the next pass. It also gives you an edge in a heli fight if you have flair and they have ECM 1 on 1.. but I suck at heli fights and usually an AA takes me out if the heli doesn't .. lol

You do it right so Im happy to follow your lead.

Do you fly in 1st or 3rd person view. I like 3rd person to see around me but you also cant see what youre shooting at.

No wrong or right answer there, I stay in cockpit view , I leverage the hud data and target sights for my shots , watching videos of the pro’s but that doesn’t help since they make every shot land and make things look easy. When I fly the little bird I have my eyes always on the move glancing at my mini map then to my field of view like every split second.. Keep moving , keep moving, keep moving.. lol.. I usually get plugged as soon as I stop moving , waiting for a lock on to hit leaves you wide open, I much prefer plucking ground troops , scout heli is luck kills for tanks for me

I dunno where or who say to me that u could hotswitch seats to uses the flares simultaneously.... need to remember who say that....

Was in another server, Akula gets real angry bout that.. but i dont recall it right now
