2018 STi

Traded in my 2017 STi for a 2018 STI Limited Edition 50th Anniversary WRX STi only 200 made I was lucky and got one! Im getting it some aftermarket upgrades and so will post the new pic when that is done. Road Trip to break-in next week to the Everglades :D

That is one spoiled little bitch you got there Welfed. Bring her up to Canada in the middle of a snow storm and you will see what she can REALLY do. We had a weekend where we got 50 cms of snow (do the math yanks, we always do :) and just for fun I went out with the Range Rover. I had a feeling things were gonna get dicey so I brought some straps along just in case. Well the Rover never needed them but I pulled 2 cars out of the ditch and a moron in a Toyota Echo who just couldn't move in the middle of the road lol. Fun day!

BTW, the cars not getting stuck were Land Rovers, Audis, Subarus and of course the 4x4 trucks however one of them got stuck because he had no weight in the back, not a problem with mine lol. Damm thing weights 5700 lbs

I'm on my 3rd WRX started with a 2.5RS way way back had the first 2002 WRX, then a 2007 STI, now a 2016 WRX, a Legacy GT (2008) thrown in just to mix it up... I am die hard Subaru fan and knock on wood never any problems with any of mine..

Very nice ride !!

Hey Raynett,

What's your opinion on the boxer engines pooling oil at the bottom wall of the cylinders when parked. I hear that is an issue with horizontally opposed engines. Does this result in uneven wear in the cylinder walls?

The engines eat oil, but it's a modest but predictable rate on all of mine , maybe half to a quart between oil changes. My 2002 WRX I drove until it had 270k on the odometer... There is a debate about the current new engine (direct injection) on the carbon build up on the valves. I don't know what to think of that debate yet since my 2016 only has 30k on it but I can tell you I do like the 26-29 miles per gallon I'm getting with it and the engine is strong and leverages a twin scroll turbo that spools down low so the car always feels like it has power which is something that my prior WRX's and Legacy GT didn't have down low. The gas millage on the STI is dismal it's like driving a big block V8 and that did factor into me buying the standard WRX over the STI this last time around although I envy not having a car that I could take to the track and beat on all day.

Half a quart to a quart between oil changes is not bad at all. I think my old 2002 A4 1.8T burned slightly less and strangely enough this monster hardly burns any.

nice!

I wanted one of those for a long time but was turned off when they stopped making the hatch backs. the focus RS seems like a lot of fun too but I think I'll try and hold off on changing any vehicles for a few years.

recently I did get some wider (9 in front, 10 in rear) wheels and performance tires for my ride, which made a huge difference:

they want so much for those mid sized trucks though, but they are about the right size. I was looking at full sized crew cabs but went with a sequoia instead. more interior room and can actually tow something when needed.

but that STI, hope I get to try one out someday :)

if I ever won the lotto i'd mainly waste money on cars. there are so many cool cars out there that i'll never get to own! ugh . 1st world problems.
