Hello all,

Long time player with some long breaks due to location. I must say this is the best server, community, and game play.

Originally, from the USA, first generation and graduated from NC State University. I started playing when I was unmarried and had no kids, now I have a wife and three kids. I work as an online teacher while living overseas, mostly in Indonesia, but I can move around as long as the internet connection is good.

When I hear someone say, I was single when I started playing and now Im married and have 3 kids (Congrats on that) it reminds me of how old this game is, and me too, LOL.

Thanks, Yeah the time does fly by. It really hit me this year while looking in the mirror critiquiing my choice of clothes.

I think I will just stop rebooting my modem before playing and hopefully it doesn't get flagged as a VPN. The Indonesian ISP, by default, gets access to the modem, but I locked them out as they kept changing settings without permission. So, I need to refresh manually. I also switched back to a default DNS server.

Default 0.0.0.0 or 8.8.8.8 DNS might help.

What is your ping normally and do you find it gets laggy if you dont reboot to obtain a new IP?

Normally my ping was at 180 ms, then suddenly without changing anything, it hit 270. That's when I started messing with settings on the modem. Now I'm lucky if I get 235 ms. It's not a game server issue, as my ping skyrocketed on all servers. Without rebooting the modem, I see a speed drop and ping go to 398 ms. From 150 mb/ s to 25 mb/ s. Suprisingly, with 270 ms the game is not laggy, compared to other servers with a much lower ping. So I truly believe the server is top-notch when compared to the others.

I just reverted my DNS to default and noticed the ping skyrocket, so I will use your settings, which I believe are the Google DNS servers. Thanks a bunch.

I found them plenty of times and got that embarrassing admin message. It's funny I see the string too late.

Crazy that a DNS would make that big a difference. Luckily your evenings are this servers mornings for US players and the high ping kick is not active.

Let me clarify: The ping and DNS are not directly related, but the DNS change is necessary as my ISP's DNS will go down occasionally.

I am surprised that you can play at all with that ping, wow. Btw, I changed DNS server recently and my ping went down to 90/100 from 110/125. Not an expert buy it must have helped doing it.
