You picked the wrong bar

Let me preface this with that my wife is a criminal defense attorney and I'm just a mechanical engineer. Every Friday for at least the last 15 years Karen and I have dinner at the same Thai restaurant. We enjoy a good meal and talk about the days events. I have to say even after 34 years I am still head over heals in love with her. Anyway we finish our meal and head out to the car. After a brief embrace we drive a short distance towards our home and a couple of blocks from our house we stop at our favorite bar for a night cap. This bar is mostly frequented by cops, (mostly detectives), and lawyers. We head in and are warmly greeted by our friends. We see that our usual table is empty and proceed to seat ourselves. Without asking our usual drinks are delivered to our table. After a few minutes friends join us and pleasant conversation begins. I'm not sure how much time had passed when a young stranger entered the bar. I noticed him out of the corner of my eye. I didn't think anything of it at that moment. All of a sudden I heard "Alright everyone this is a robbery" "Put your hands up". This guy had a Glock G45 pointed at the ceiling. Without hesitation I pulled my Sig, as did my wife, and about 20 other cops drew their weapons and trained them on the suspects head. This dumb ass picked the wrong bar. Needless to say he dropped the Glock and actually pissed himself. Karen and I had to spend an extra hour or so making our statements but it was worth it. I did take pictures but legalities prevent me from presenting them until this case goes to trial.

Good for you guys. This is a story that will never be seen on the national or local news. The sad part is it will never be reported as a good event.

I never had a reason to carry until I turned 70 years old. That was when I knew I could not protect myself any more. I'm now protected every where I go.

Great story Carp. K.

Ha, great story and glad you all made it out ok. As a sig fan, I am curious as to your carry option? Shield? 365?

My wife and I carry the SIG Sauer P320, 357sig load. Definitely enough stopping power within it's range!

I always feel safe at that bar. Superior fire power is always present!
