Good stuff for binge watching include the classic HBO stuff like Sopranos or The Wire, AMC's Breaking Bad (and to a lesser extent The Walking Dead, though it loses its way somewhat after a few seasons). For L.A. enrichment (mostly crime-oriented), Southland, Bosch and The Shield are all pretty solid.
Seen Fauda yet?
I think I played on your squad at least once and if I recall correctly you said you're in SoCal--if not, skip the L.A. stuff because those are ultimately B+ shows at best (with some A+ bravura gleams from time to time), and well beneath the caliber of the two HBO shows and Breaking Bad above mentioned. The latter of which, BB, I hooked a buddy from Tel Aviv on and he continues to rave about it. Just solid, solid television.
If you are in L.A.--where do you go to wipe hummus? I'm not in the Valley anymore but I know that there are legit spots in Encino, many along Ventura Boulevard.
Probably not as good as the falafel or hummus in Israel but the produce is excellent and the Ashkenazi waitresses are прекрасны
