Tesla cars are the most overpriced pieces of shit. Change my mind.

You're just blatantly going for all the controversial stuff ?

I've only been in a Model S taxi, and that interior is a lot more appealing to me then the 3/Y, but I am leaning towards a cybertruck as my next vehicle. Something electric anyways as I have 3 gas vehicles and am getting a bronco sport for the lady.

The more I see about the cybertruck the better I like it, but I'll believe their claims production models are given to independent reviewers for verification.

Supposedly the top tier cybertruck could have greater towing range than a gas f-150 with a class 4 load.

I'm more interested in the Tesla solar panels and home battery pack, I'll from get something like that eventually. Ideally the vehicle could work as an emergency power backup as well.

Thank you for your detailed post,

A vehicle working as an emergency power backup is very impressive not gonna lie, however I find it hard to believe that an electric truck can be more powerful than a F150. Also those batteries that the Tesla uses are not environment friendly afterall. On the other hand, a ford Bronco sport is sickkk, have you thought about getting a jeep wrangler instead? Or a fully modified Subaru BRZ? Just saying !!
And yes lmaoo, I'm going for all the controversial stuff. I'm here to collect all the AARP trophies.

Yeah the thing where batteries are disadvantaged is energy density. I would probably get a lower trim cybertruck as I don't need the max range necessarily.

What they've done with the Tesla semi is pretty impressive, so we'll see what they can pull off.

I have a two door wrangler Rubicon and an 11 mustang gt Cali edition, and a Toyota Sequoia for towing. Just a fan of cars ?

Tesla is probably over rated, but if you look at their industrial manufacturing techniques and profitability, they're not going away.

I think their profit margin is like 30% and they make almost as much as Toyota while moving far less units. So as soon as there's any serious competition they can easily lower prices while legacy auto makers are likely losing money with every ev.

If you look at the Rivian R1S and R1T, those are great products. Hopefully they can scale up production successfully because that'll push innovation.

The ram electric concept truck looks great too.

BRO WTF those are some sick ass cars you got. I used to drive a 2005 Suzuki Swift that I drove into a ditch and left it there. I loved that car for 3 reasons. Firstly, that bitch almost doesn't consume any gas. Secondly, cops never look at me, thirdly and most importantly I love doing road rages, imagine a big guy coming outta a small car with a baseball bat on a Canadian winter night.

I'd probably say Teslas are margins are close to %50 actually.
The Rivian r1s and r1t look similar to the ford bronco a little bit, especially the rs1.
I was just looking online to see their estimated prices, the rs1 is gonna start at 98k Canadian lmaooo.

My Friend has a Y performance, the car is fast as fuck off the line but the quality of the build is very bad. Body panels do not fit right, trim is junk, feels cheap inside. IMHO the other Big manufacturers have a higher build quality for their EVs.

I drive an F-350 Dually Diesel for my daily and it has a 48gal tank. I also have a 100Gallon auxiliary tank that fits in the bed of the truck. For an extra 800lbs of weight, I can triple the range of the truck.
The range and the capability of it is unmatched at the moment for electric and without a huge advancement in battery and charging technology, an electric truck does not make sense to me.

Also when comparing the Tesla Semi, They tend to compare it to conventional Semis with a 100 gallon tank when most long haul trucks have a (2x100) 200 gallon tank. Makes me not trust the hype.

The new Bronco's are really really nice!!!! Please dont get her a Bronco Sport though. You hear the word sport and think its an upgrade but really its unibody small engine downgrade. No where near the capabilities of the real full body on frame Bronco.

The Cyber Truck does look cool or interesting. The big downside of truck EVs is the battery life while towing or in cold weather.

Solar panels are becoming more and more popular around me. I will say, the people who had them as an independent power source and not tided into the power company during hurricane sandy never had an issue while everyone else lost power for weeks to months. During that time they were worth their weight in gold. Some also had natural gas generators hooked up to their homes for emergencies which had the same effect.

If you go solar and enough panels to keep you fully running with vehicle charging that's awesome and where the future should be.

I've reticently been temp banned from the MacRumors forums for political speech in the general section (I still content the speech wasn't political) and it made me realize maybe we should treat Michael like that. If he keeps posting stuff the intended on stirring up "edgy" discussions maybe we just bad him again. ?

I've tried to reason, but she wants it for commuting to replace an older escape. Interesting how it's more like a 15 year escape then the new escapes.

I'm just tryna be an active member, that's all. I take your last paragraph as a warning, I will stop the "edgy cunt discussions".

I wouldn't mind a diesel electric hybrid, although the new trucks are already computerized out the ass.

Tesla semi looks like it was designed by someone who never spent any time in a truck.

yeah, the available electric trucks don't even really compare well with light duty ICE ones. even my gas sequoia is annoying to tow relatively heavy with because that drops the range down to about 150 miles.

the appeal of the tesla semi looks like fuel savings and ease of operation, but that is more commercial focused. Hopefully, the higher end cybertruck with the 1000 v architecture will compare to HD commercial models, but that'll highly depend on charging infrastructure.

I'd be happy with a Model Y that was off-road focused. that's one thing the Rivians do well but they are too pricey.
