Hey Guys,
So thought I would drop a line about a new build I'm going to do in order to achieve the best possible 4k gaming. Currently Im running a Titian X card with decent MOBO , PSU , Memory, etc. But still not able to put BF4 at ultra settings .
Don't get me wrong BF4 looks amazing on a 4k monitor but I had set out to push the envelope and now I believe I have it pretty much nailed down after working with several reliable sources that have tested BF4 for me at Ultra settings on a 4k display. So here is my next build minus the eye-candy of the case etc..
Mother Board
ASUS Z170-A
Processor:
Intel® CoreT i7 6700k 4.0GHz/4.2GHz Turbo QUAD Core CPU w/ Hyperthreading 8MB L3 Cache
Memory:
16GB HyperX® FURYT DDR4- 2666 (2x8GB) [Dual Channel]
Graphics Card:
Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 12GB Total in SLI with G-Sync
Power Supply:
860 Watt Corsair® Professional Digital Series AX860 80+ Platinum Certified Modular Power Supply ROHS
Operating System Drive:
[M.2 NVME SSD] 256GB Samsung® 950 Pro [2,500MB/s Sequential Reads]
Audio:
Creative® Soundblaster Z PCI-E Featuring SBX Studio Pro, Dolby, Sound Core3D
That is the basic build with top of the line components / hardware, you may wonder why I have a sound card ? Well the sound as much as the display are part of the impact of a gaming experience and I tested every Top of the line head set out there, right now the Turtle beach 800 elite is the most insane surround sound offered but it has to be properly supported and it's design is for a counsel not particularly a PC hence the sound card. It does produce the best Surround in Dolby, it feels as if your at the movies and I highly recommend it if you want to be immersed.
I'm adding an additional 4k monitor which will refresh up to 100Hz and has G-Sync it is the Asus ROG Swift PG348Q you can see the review here @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsXfx_XcDFE Doing this will allow me to run my mini map on a 28inch 4k while my main display will be 34inches at a much better refresh with G-Sync, so no tearing.
It turns out that dual 980Ti's will out perform dual Titan X's in SLI with benchmarks to prove it.
I will keep you posted as to when it is done and post picks of the complete set up. If anyone has anything to add or see's that there is something I missed or has other benchmarks to offer than please do.
4K gaming is still bleeding edge with many bugs to be worked out and just as I get this new build done I'm certain there will be new video cards with the sole purpose and aim of 4K enhancement. But such is the life of us gammers and Tech junkies trying to fullfill that innerchild of Fun
