Hi all,

I have one modem and run the whole house. 6 computers and a bunch of wifi.

I think its fucking up gameplay.

Any thoughts?????

What's the network? I mean, is it like
Modem
Router
Switch
Access points
PC/cellphone/tv

Or how??

Cuz if the modem runs all without router and switches, is a mess for sure

There's some amazing ASUS ac1900 routers that can help even with the wifi stability and management of the net traffic and the modem is use it as a bridge between the ISP provider and your house

QOS will help like others have mentioned. Newer routers and modems are better at handling traffic than older or cheaper hardware was. If you're supporting that many machines, I hope you have enough bandwidth for it. You could split bandwidth evenly for each machine or do it the hard way by limiting specific data types.

I have around 35-40 devices on my home network and like the others are mentioning better router and QOS is the trick to making sure your pings are low, I also recommend Asus router, I have 3 of them supporting all the wireless devices in my house and a nice core router connected to my cable modem

Wow that's a lot of connections.

I though I had a lot because my sex robot demands 4 connects just for herself. :excitement:

I have alot of the same problems...lots of lag...not sure why...cause I got this modem off of EBAY and they said it was the latest and greatest...so I'm sure it isn't the problem.Analogue_modem_-_acoustic_coupler.jpg
