Just added a 2tb SSD to my rig replacing a 1tb 7200rpm HDD. Doom Eternal is coming and my other drives are running out of room/need reformat.

I read around a little more this time about over provisioning your SSD and wanted to get some more opinions. I went with an additional 20% provision over what might be there from factory.

What do you run for total percent of allocated space on an SSD?

I never heard about over provisioning and just watched the Techquickie video on it. I wish I had enough space to do that, seems like a good idea. I just have my at factory and they're almost full. I guess its time to save up for a 2tb SSD.
BTW, anyone know anything about SSHDs?

I've got three SSDs on my computer. Main op system has a 120g drive with 3/4 full. Game SSD has a 250g drive 2/3 full. And lastly one for my video saving files at 120g.

Gone are the days of waiting to join game after restart and seeing most the players at Delta.

NVME is nice too. I have a 256GB as my primary and a 500GB SSD as a secondary. My computer is smaller form factor but still has room for a 3.5" drive,. Which I just replaced.

I have been running most games from my 500GB drive, and the load times are better for Golmud than with the mech drive.

I had been tempted to go with SSHD hybrid drives to save money, but the speed of the SSDs won me over. The speed increase with an SSHD didn't seem worth it. SSDs have come down a lot in price. You can most likely run a $80-100 SSD as your primary and keep your favorite game on it. Use your old mech drive as bulk. I had my mech drive writing 1080p video files while I gamed from the SSD and let the NVME primary run the OS, for the most part..

I don't miss that waiting period. Always wondered how some guys got in game so fast.
