Between Here and There
The goal of this thread is to collect as much information as possible about the sporadic, sometimes severe lag we've all been experiencing. My prevailing theory is that the problem is on the server host's end, but it's not easy to build a case without hard evidence. Techs are lazy, they don't generally dig too deep into something if they don't have to.

What we all need to do is to collect and provide the following information:

Code:
Normal Ping
Stutter/Lag Ping
Date
Time

Feel free to include any other information you may think is valuable. Like player count, which server, etc.

Make sure you include (at least once) all of the troubleshooting steps you've already taken and/or plan to take to try and resolve the issue on your end.

If you've not been effected by the lag, then that's fine too. Of course, the Host may actually talk to us without all the effort, but it's better to plan for the probability that they won't.

We should probably encourage some other protocol to be used. ICMP packets are routinely delayed or flat discarded in favor of real traffic, meaning its terrible to diagnose anything. Many providers know this and will sweep things under the rug.

Are you able to see what other ports are open on the host's side? Any of the flavors of tcping out there would be great and can be run without you playing the game. Some will give timestamps and spit out reports. Since it uses tcp, most of the icmp guesswork and lack of verification is gone.

Sorry I am not going to be any help at all as I don't ever get lag unless the server is going yo implode. Out side of that it runs fine for me.............STRYKER.

The only problem for me is when I hit the Windows Key and shrink my screen. For some reason Win 10 has a hell of a time getting it back to full screen.

Have you considered running in Borderless Windowed?

Does your keyboard have a "Win LK" key? If not, you can probably find a keyboard that does. This locks out the Windows Key on your board.
