Recording Game play?

When I had an Nvida card, Shadowplay worked great. Switched to AMD, and their version of instant replay sucks ass. Causes frame rate issues and lag while playing.

With AMD, I’ve tried moving where it saves files to SSD and using System Memory for buffering, but same thing.

Tried using OBS, but my recorded audio sounds like it was recorded at the bottom of a well. And graphics were off, dark.

With OBS using their “game capture”
Mode. I will be experimenting with other modes to see if it helps.

Anyone got any ideas on recording game play with AMD that doesn’t cause game issues?

Have you ever tried Steam's inbuilt recording feature? I mean, if your BF4 is linked to it. Since i bought BF4 from Steam and linked it to my EA account, for me it's the best option for recording gameplays.

I use AMD and don't have issues very often with it. I know many other apps have started implementing it on their own such as SteelSeeries GG. Windows has one build into the Windows Game Bar (Win + G).

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics drivers, possible using DDU?

Completely uninstalling and reinstalling, that’s a good tip. I’ll try that. Would love to just stick with AMD software if I can.

I also have another ssd that I could use just for buffering and saving video.

You've inspired me to drop $1.99 on bf4 at steam to see if I can get the game to work

Help Indicating me for clan member then, lol. What's your problem with the game tho? I've fixed the game not launching many times because of EA's app problems

It wouldn't show any multiplayer games after logging on. "failed to connect" or w/e but in the ea app it is connecting.

Now I'm trying uninstalling all EA folders/other games etc, and am going to reinstall the game thru steam, then required software.

My ea folder and bf4 game files might have been on different drives, which I wouldn't think would matter but maybe it's all finicky.

(Windows 10)

I tried this last night, but couldn’t get it to work. I didn’t get bf4 through steam so I just added it to my library. Didn’t play with it too much. But the interface in team to set it up is pretty easy and intuitive.

My Internet is only about 75-200 Mbps so I loath downloading it if I'm home busy online 😅
Multiplayer games not showing when launching the game from one platform but showing in another is weird, but you seem like doing the right thing by getting rid of all EA folders for a fresh start, don't forget to also remove EA app files from the C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\ folder as well and try placing both EA app and Steam in the same drive, C:\

The link between your Steam and EA account went good?

Here's some additional tips that might help to get the game working, related to the 'required software' that you mentioned:
#1 Installing drivers by Iobits' drivebooster app (if it shows available drivers for download). If it doesn't show any additional drive for download, then you can try 2nd option which is kind of a glitch.
#2 Downloading a newer battlefiled game before BF4 (If you have in your library). This method helped me a lot when running fresh instances of Win10, somehow downloading a newer battlefield, in my case it was BF1, it is somehow able to download the correct files that will also get BF4 running correctly. Perhaps newer versions of battlefiled come with correct generics files that helps different battlefiled games working correctly in your system.

What kind of problem did you have? I remember that for me to have access to Steam's recording feature i had to toggle it to "beta mode", then the recording feature showed up. Maybe it's not necessary in the newer versions of Steam if it was already available to you. The only problem that i had with it was when i changed the video exporting folder, my videos started coming without audio. I fixed it by removing and installing Steam again, lol. Did you try it with other games? I use the standard key "ctrl + f11" to start recording, it's fair pointing out that if people have a simple keyboard, they cannot be pressing other keys when hitting ctrl+ f11 otherwise it won't work. Sometimes i think it's not working but it's just because i'm pressing shift to run, my keyboard is "occupied" and don't realize the ctrl + f11 lol
