recent server crashes.

guys.... I guarantee you that we (especially Jeremy) are working hard to figure out what is happening with the crashes.Every time we have a crash, we have two issues,...
1. get the server restarted and investigate why it went down
2. get the server repopulated by reseeding (this is the more difficult and time consuming of the two.)

Unfortunately, our hosting provider has not been helpful and they blame everyone but themselves..... so to update you, here is current status:

After the crash this morning (4/15/2017), we had them do a fresh wipe and reinstall of the software on our server. we disabled all our 3rd party tools (like PBBans, PROCON, and our plug-ins such as the player stats software, our language kick software, our fun messaging software, etc...)

Interestingly, after all this, we were playing on the new install AND IT CRASHED AGAIN! so the good news, we know its not us. Now our hosting provider has to take accountability for the issues.

I hope we see situation improve soon! We will keep you informed as this proceeds.

Server update: Guys, we continue to experience crashes and we have reason to believe the cause of the crashes is a planned attack from a person or group that is angry with us... it could be that we banned, kicked, rage killed, or even someone angry at our recent population success.

With that in mind, sometime tonight around 8pm EST, the server was running Rouge Transmission and someone got angry and threatened to bring the server down. We need to know the name of that player. Does anyone remember the name? If you were in the game can you look at your battlelog to see if you can identify the players name. this is really important and any assistance you can provide is critical.

the "SO WHAT" factor around this topic and finding that players name.....

I can only speak for myself, but i believe any electronic attack on a viable business or disrupting electronic business is a felony offense. We are paying for a service and they intentionally disrupting that service. And they are not just attacking us, but 5 other servers as well. We will turn the name over to the service providers who can contact authorities to conduct an investigation. my opinion....

I think the attacker deserves punishment. Pretty sad to see someone take it out on a set of servers just because they got banned.

A player on the server tonight threatened to take it down. I believe his name was Spool. My recording software wasn't working so I couldn't screenshot it.

Essentially Paul was doing his usual "kill everything" and this low level Spool was one of the victims. He accused Paul of hacking and threatened to take down the server for supporting hackers. Something along the lines of "Admin this is your last warning. I will take the server down for hacker supporting"
