Hey guys,

My friend rowanator0 looks to have been banned in the Shanghai server after going 134/12 gunning for me in the heli. This was during a close game (<150 tick difference) which went on for a fairly long time.

I'm not here to appeal on his behalf (he's more than capable of doing so himself) but I have questions surrounding the rules as I can see from the appeals that it looks like others have been banned or questioned for farming.

Re: the server rules thread where it says "there seems to be some continued confusion regarding the rules on our servers," maybe this is because the Shanghai server tagline explicitly says there aren't any rules or admins? Heck it even says "let it rip" which... well, we did.

I don't find it surprising that there are in fact rules and admins--hard to run a server without them--but even the ones posted on this site don't mention heli kills or farming.

So is getting too many kills with the heli actually against the rules? I understand why it would be, in terms of server population, but it sure would be nice to know that upfront so we can play by the rules.

Its doesn't take a smart guy to figure out we want to keep the server populated, Having a server pounded round after round by some asshole that only cares about his K/D kills the server population. Try capping a flag without dying. That requires some skill. Not flying in a helo on a map with no AA.

I really couldn't care less about KD or any other stats, and I suspect my friend doesn't either since his avg is 1.34 but that's beside the point.

On Shanghai, the attack heli IS the AA. In fact I suspect the only reason we could get so many kills is because you've banned many of the skilled pilots and gunners that could have kept us busy. (and of course it requires some skill or this wouldn't be an issue to begin with)

More importantly, people can't follow rules they don't know about, and banning people over invisible and arbitrary rules eats into population over time too.
