Pizza delivery guy was arguing with me about the tip.

Hey guys, genuine question.
How much is the "proper" tip you would give a delivery guy?
Big snow storm today in my province, ordered some pizza to be delivered. The place is like 5 mins away from where i live. Total price was like $30 including delivery fee and tax. When the guy showed up at my door, I tipped him $10 tip. The mf starts telling me how much trouble he had to get to my place and that he hit black ice on the way. I thank him and tell him to drive safe. He goes is that all you gonna tip me?
Then started having a meltdown. I told him to fuck off.
I legit feel bad now, don't know if $10 is not much or he was just being a Ahole

I think i am a really good tipper and for $30 in pizza that has a delivery fee seems $10 is a good tip.

Opening the door equipped with a clearly visible gun chest holster is the best way to avoid problems with delivery people...you should try.
Personally, I never get delivered... 90% of the delivery people here are people with a criminal record and I've never understood how you can order food to be delivered when it's less than 20 minutes away on foot and that we are physically able to do so. But in your case 10 bucks is a really good tip.
I would have personally added a big slap in his face the minute he opened his fat mouth to be full.

You're a more generous tipper than I am. I tip 20%+ for my server when dining out, but delivery guy gets $5-$6 USD and that's it.

Essentially it started so business owners, restaurants, don't have to pay a decent wage. Wait staff wasn't (still isn't?) subject to minimum wage laws. Not that minimum wage is worth much.

My stance is that if I am brought food and everything is fine then I give 20%. In a restaurant, home delivery, whatever. I'll tip a good barber or masseuse too.

33% would be a damn good tip in the U.S. dawg!

I just tip 5 bucks starting which is around 25% for anytime I go out or delivery. Now if you were tipping a ski/snowboard instructor for a lesson, that it gets interesting... anywhere from 75 to 250 bucks.

5 min walks in a Canadian winter+ storm is a lot. and definitely next time i see him will be ready to slap the crap outta him
