My name is Rick. I started playing BF with my son when he was just a kid...when BF was just coming out...and played mostly on PC. He was always better than me at this game. Son is now 28 years old and working mostly on his career as a guitar/singer/songwriter/producer in Nashville...and doesn't play BF anymore. I hadn't played for many years until just recently when I stumbled across the AARP server (after loading BF4 on my company laptop). I thought AARP might be more my speed since I'm an old fart (64 years young) and maybe this server was filled with old guys fooling around with age-old mice and archaic machines...and I'd have a chance! Well, I later found out AARP standed for something other than what I was thinking...but the guys/gals on here were great.
Originally from Lexington, KY and a graduate of UK, I am a SAP security software engineer at the University of KY for the last 33 years and am now working 100% remotely for UK in Nashville since moving down here with my wife back in January 2019. We love Nashville and enjoy spending more time with our son, Trevor. And yes, I bleed BLUE...go CATS!
I play BF4 on a Dell laptop with all settings at LOW...but have really good wired internet connection. I plan on getting a new gaming PC sometime in the future after we settle down here somewhat.
I have to say that I have really enjoyed meeting and playing with many of the players here on this server...especially STRYKER, ANIMAL, TXCHICK, DANNYELVIS, ADIOS, 6KINGSGF, and others. I prefer to be a gunner in a tank and all of these players have been extremely patient with me as their ridealong. I respect the expertise that these folks display in the game and welcome any tips and suggestions you have to help me improve my play.
Some of my other hobbies include darts, playing pool, golf (picking it back up after about 15 years of not playing), volleyball, playing with our dog MAX (rescued siberian husky) and sports cars in general. Looking forward to the new mid-engine corvette coming out on 7/18/2019...might just have to get one of those after making sure all the kinks are worked out of the new model year.
Thanks for making me feel welcome on your server. It's the only one I play on...so hopefully I'll get a chance to meet everyone else on here in due time.
