Ping limit?

Hi folks,
I joined RC1 this afternoon and I usually have a ping around 50, but my internet does fluctuate. I have 3 teenagers streaming nearly 24/7. Well, I could tell I was lagging a little, but I was in the server no longer than 90 seconds when I got kicked. A message flashed across the screen that I was violating the ping limit and then the game froze and came up with the message "you've been kicked by the admin." This is the first time this has happened to me, so wondering if this is a new setting or can you share the ping limit so I have an idea of when I'm getting close to being kicked and I can yell at my kids.

Thanks!

I reset my modem and restarted my computer and asked the kids to stick to instagram for a lil bit, came back in to the server with a 181 ping and it kicked me before I could even spawn. Maybe the ping limit isn't new, but is the allowed time frame? When I join my ping is usually high (150+) but settles down to below 100
after a minute or two.

I then joined RC4 and had a ping around 50 followed by 2 other non-RC servers and had the same ping, around 50. Any ideas why I can join RC4 and other servers with no ping issues, but have ping issues on RC1?

Your ping is all over the place.

If your router has QOS or another load balancing option you could try turning it on to see if it helps your performance. Theoretically it is supposed to even out the lack of bandwidth any computer on a network is supplied with. Sometimes it works, sometimes you just need more bandwidth to spread around. Assign by MAC and give your machine priority over the kids. They aren't doing anything important anyway. ;-)

It apparently was only that one day, must have been something going on with my provider? But here are my results:

Your results are fair, but not awesome. If you run into trouble again, try contacting your ISP and ask if they are having issues. Be polite, but make sure they are aware you are experiencing an issue. Some ISP's will tell you upfront if they are experiencing problems. Even if the problem is not between you and them, it is good to establish a log for the issue. They should be adept at locating an issue in their network. They can also find out if traffic is having an issue somewhere down the line. It doesn't do them any good routing through another ISP which isn't supporting traffic.

See you on the battlefield!

BufferBloat is not good.

I would go into your routers QOS and limit your DL and UP speed to 85% of its max. Keep adjusting it up and down until bufferbloat gets better. You could also set your comp to prioritize packets over the other connected devices.
