Perfect Day to go fishing, Ocean was flat.

Well it was a beautiful day to fish but we struck out again. We were trolling Rigged Whole Squid and Rigged Ballyhoo. We had a Mahi on the side of the boat but lost him while trying to gaff.

After this video We had a close encounter with a 8ft shark while swimming in 1200ft deep water. I never moved so fast in my life to get out of the water lol.

The weather was beautiful and we had a great time.

I marked our location at 12 miles east of Fort Lauderdale

Its a Sportsman 252 with twin Yamaha 150 w/Digital throttle and steering. Twin Gamin 12" touch screens. I love this boat. My last boat was a Proline 21' Sport so this is a huge step up for me.

I know about the sharks there, crazy.

What's funny is I have been diving since 1991 and have seen sharks while diving in reefs or wrecks many many times. When you see a shark in the open ocean it is different. On the reef the sharks are probably not hungry and really want nothing to do with you. Today this guy cam right up to us checking us out. freaky..

Thats looks like a lot of fun. I tried my hand at sailing twice, for two weeks at a time. Boats and open water are pure bliss. I can only imagine how cool it was so far from land too.

we use the same for trolling, but we keep live shrimp and pinfish when we run into schoolies. Dolphin can be picky eaters. lol have to have a variety of bait.

Had some close encounters with sharks while surfing when I lived in Jacksonville, FL. Dolphins and whales were a regular occurrence.

caught a shark last week and then the other pics are a whale shark a few years ago we found while fishing. our boat is 42FT and it was almost the same size.

I will tell you guys a story that has been with me for ages and I can not shake it. Meaning I must have the worst luck in this world when it comes to fishing.

One when I was a kid my parents took us to a fishery of catfish. Everyone caught 5 catfishes and me "none".

We have gone to canal where there are miles and miles of water. Few other fisherman around me catching strippers, blue gills and me "none".\

Gone to lake where we get in a boat many fisherman in boats catching fish even my friends in the same boat and me "none".

I have gone to Ocean with friends and using the same bait so I decided to be in the middle. They are catching and me "none".

Until this date I have had no success. Though I can say I have enjoyed every moment. Smoking a great cigar and enjoying the wildlife and the conversations with my friends and strangers.
