The year is coming to an end. This year has been good and not so good to all of us. It's with all humility that I give thanks for the good. With every fiber of my being I express empathy and sympathy for those of us that have experienced tragedy and loss. Unfortunately the world we live in is unforgiving. As I reflect on this past year here at AARP there has been one common theme. We genuinely care about one another. Members are always there when needed. For me it's comforting to know that I can be myself, with all my flaws and problems knowing that I won't be judged. Knowing that I can depend on all of you.
I wish I had the cure for hatred. I wish that no one was homeless or went hungry. I wish the world could live in peace.
I know many of you may perceive me as too philosophical but I prefer to think of myself as an optimist.
Let's hope that the coming year is good for all of us. Full of peace and love for all!
