The year is coming to an end. This year has been good and not so good to all of us. It's with all humility that I give thanks for the good. With every fiber of my being I express empathy and sympathy for those of us that have experienced tragedy and loss. Unfortunately the world we live in is unforgiving. As I reflect on this past year here at AARP there has been one common theme. We genuinely care about one another. Members are always there when needed. For me it's comforting to know that I can be myself, with all my flaws and problems knowing that I won't be judged. Knowing that I can depend on all of you.

I wish I had the cure for hatred. I wish that no one was homeless or went hungry. I wish the world could live in peace.

I know many of you may perceive me as too philosophical but I prefer to think of myself as an optimist.

Let's hope that the coming year is good for all of us. Full of peace and love for all!

Evidently It's true, I am too philosophical. It's time for a sabbatical. See you guys next year.

Well said Carp.

Sometimes the bad is necessary to really appreciate the good. Not always but sometimes.

I don't know why it is but I always feel a little better with things after I read a post from Carp. With all that is going on in the word (the U.S. included) it is always nice to hear from a guy with an optimistic view. I could go on quite the rant here about the whole damn world going to shit but out of respect for carp I won't. BTW guys the leaves are still beckoning to be cleaned up.................STRYKER.

In case you guys don't know it your all the best. Each and everyone of you brings out the best in me, and every other person that calls AARP home. Don't ever sell yourself short. The beautiful fact is that each individual that makes up the "Rebel Collective" defines all of us. Together we are more than the sum of our parts.

Pride is considered one of those seven deadly sins. Fuck that. I am proud to be a member of AARP. I am proud to help my fellow man. I am proud to make a difference.

All of you guys make a difference.

Thank you for so much!
