My wife and I just returned from a pleasant week in Key West, a much needed get away. While in Key West, the Midwest (Iowa, Illinois) was hit with a storm classified as Derecho. We are more accustom with Tornadoes that pass through rapidly and leave a path of destruction, however Im told this lingered in the area from some time before passing. My daughter a nurse while driving to work was forced to stop and abandon her vehicle and take shelter in a Auto repair shop, while in the shop, the storm ripped the roof from the dwelling. I very nice week with moments of terror worrying if your children safety

A derecho (/dəˈreɪtʃoʊ/, from Spanish: derecho [deˈɾetʃo], "straight" as in direction) is a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms known as a mesoscale convective system and potentially rivaling hurricanic and tornadic forces.

I know farmers we’re greatly Affected.

I’m sure others as well. I love this country so much and I know we’ll come together and help out in a time of need.

Especially farmers, we have each others backs even if we are competing in low priced grain or potatoes.
