new Modem wifi sucks???

Big lightning storm yesterday. No internet today. Went through chat line diagnostics with WOW. Modem is bad. Get new Surfboard SB6190 from store. Hook it up all good. With hard wire from modem to PC i get the advertised speed of 200Mbps. Going thru the TPLink Deco 5 mesh it drops to 90-100. Updated the mesh system, still the slow speed. What gives? No other users on the wifi when this is happening.

QOS is that the 2.5 vs 5.0 mhz settings or something???

It stands for Quality of Service and its where you optimize and prioritize traffic.

My issue turned out to be either a bad port on one of the mesh wifi pods, or a bad Cat 5 cable. Went down many a rabbit hole......but it's fixed.
