As I have said before, I have A LOT of hours on BF2, but 4...man, theres so much more to know...so far everyone has been very cool about it, I put a bunch of fancy stuff on my armor but I have no idea what buttons to push to use them and so forth. I just figured out how to use my crosshairs on my tank..I was happy about that. I have those fireballs on my LAV but they only got about 10 feet... :( anyway, I know I have guideds on my LAV but I dont know what button to hit to use them... :( Any input would be appreciated...Ive changed stuff so much Ive forgotten whats on what...and thats the truth :)

Thanks!

The guide shell is "Tow Missile", and only locks when someone on the team uses the soflam, if you're in Teamspeak just wait to the command of "little bird lock ..." or "tank at..." usually anyone with striker will laze anything hahahhaa

For the main gun of the BTR/LAV uses the 25mm, will hurt the tanks too, besides that, u could use the flare or active protection as countermeasures to avoid guided shells

Cheers

If you changed controls around a lot I would say go back into settings and return to default. The only thing I adjust is the inverted flight I think, that really throws me off.

But anyways the F1/F2 etc change positions in vehicles, the LAV having 5 I believe, most only have 2.

1 and 2 change weapons. You can pick the set-up in game or on a web browser. Personally I like armor piercing and TOW and the vehicle repair perk. I forget the actual name, fire extinguisher maybe, you trigger it when the vehicle is disabled and you can immediately move out of harm's way. Believe that is X key.

And of course Q for spotting!

Don't worry about dying too much, persistence and communication go a long ways!

Edit: I'll have to double check in game to make sure I'm not giving incorrect advice

Use active protection, not flares. Flares may stop a guided from hitting you/locking on but the active protection will stop all incoming projectiles within its active state allowing you to run to cover.

Like stated above #1 and 2 on the KB and then the mouse buttons left and right for like fire, zoom and thermal. Configure the mouse and KB to how your brain works. You then can develop the muscle memory. I bet most of us use the KB and do not know what key does what as we do it without thinking about it.

Mouse mappings help - I made mine same as BF3 so transition was seamless. Also a good thing is to hop on practice range that BF4 has you you can work with any vehicle & settings... you'll know when/what to use in combat & people post they're favorite loadouts on YouTube & Battlelog. Trying to see what you like is best. Hope it helps & Enjoy!

As far as tanks go, I use the left mouse button for primary fire, right mouse for thermal (which I'm constantly switching back and forth with, almost all the time), my two "thumb" buttons switch to secondary fire and active protection, and I use the scroll wheel to change seats (great if you need to throw an incendiary or use the machine gun on infantry, assuming you don't have a gunner, or they are repairing). I don't use W,A,S,D. I use the directional keys for driving and right shift as high gear.

I like the idea of the wheel for switching seats. I may have to remap my wheel.

As for side thumb buttons that changes my DPI.

do you keep up a secondary monitor with the live game map? that helps a lot honestly. with a large map up to look at you can keep a good understanding of the tactical situation in real time.

I use the LAV as mainly anti infantry but also as an immediate back up to any nearby tanks or ENGs. I view LAVs as kind of like rogues in a DnD party, great at sneaking up, doing damage to the side of the literal tank (ideal from the rear though but as long as you are trying to soak up damage that is good).

Man TxChick is getting all this info from the Professionals she is going to kick some1s arse with all this help hahaha

I wish I was a pro. my hours played are pretty low compared to the retired folks lol

I thought the lav was my top vehicle, but it is actually the aa by a wide margin. I don't really enjoy the aa though.
