My Almost finished PC

I think I am going to have to upgrade soon as my specs are so far back. I guess 11 years with minor upgrades is long enough to get my money's worth. :)
CPU: Intel i7 4790K
GPU: GTX 1080
RAM: DDR3 800(16GB)
MOBO: Asus Z97I-Plus (socket 1150)

That was my PC exactly, 3 builds ago…. It did rock for a long time… i7 9700K / 2080 Super after that…. Now on i7 13700K / 4080 Super ….

Gaming at 4K / 160 Hz… I have the frame rate capped in BF4 to 160 (it was running 200)…. CPU @70% utilization and CPU @ 14% while playing…

BF2042 and BFV use a lot more CPU by comparison with 2042 being the worst the game will pop up to 70% sometimes especially if I’m on Discord audio at the same time.

Redid my loop a few months ago and here it is now.

CPU: Ryzen 9 7900x
GPU: EVGA RTX 3070 XC3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000 (32gb)
MOBO: Gigabyte Aorus B650M Elite AX Ice
I need to upgrade mine. My "old" Ryzen 7 isn't Windows 11 compatible. Not that I want that OS, it looks like they hired some pre-schoolers to design the UI. But Microsoft, in their typically banal evilness, is going to sunset Windows 10 sooner rather than later.

Probably gonna go with a Ryzen 9 and maybe upgrade my graphics card.

Get WIndows 10 Iot Enterprise LTSC which will have EOL in 2032. You can get a key for like $10-15 on a cdkey reseller site.

Its what I plan to do. I dont see any programs that I use that wont run on it and WIn10 still runs games better than Win11 buy as much as 10% FPS in some games. Its crazy how shitty WIn11 is.

Honestly that's still a great BF4 setup.

The 1080 was probably the best generational card that Nvidia released. Its still very playable even in modern games.

Released at $500 and at a time when you could build a full gaming system for less than what a current 5080 costs.

Not sure why there is so much resistance to moving to Windows 11. I moved as soon as it is available on my Laptop and haven't regretted it. It is a really good OS, not that I am a power user or anything. I am kinda stuck now with this older mobo/chip combo as it isn't secure enough apparently so staying on W10 for a bit.

I love the white bitspower! I'll be rebuilding my desk soon with those.
Bitspower quality is great but so hard to undo when u want to do maintenance. If you do hard tubing use Bitspower but if you do soft tube go with EK, its easier and also leak proof. I used both in the past and i like them both but for different tubing tho. Ek is shit for hard tubing. Here is one with Bitspower hard tubing from years ago, https://pcpartpicker.com/b/C7Bbt6

I'm going hard tubing, used tygon in the past with a Mora rad in another room (I'll dig up some old images when i get home). The tygon evaporated like crazy, but i had over a gallon in that system.

My latest build has a 4080 Super in it and the card is so big I had to use an external SB X6 , it’s the first time I tried an external DAC and it’s 1000 times better than the onboard audio
SB X6 or SBx G6?
I just use the USB audio built-in the headset. It has fake 7.1 but I can hear the direction of footsteps.

It's the external G6 model, it's about the size of a deck of cards, plugs right into a USB port . I have also have a wireless Corsair that has (7.1) it's alright but the G6 despite having to be wired has a quite a bit of tuning ability via the software. Scout mode (amplifies footsteps) is pretty sweet, for music there is no comparison at all between the Corsair and G6 it simply blows it away. I haven't tried using it with my Xbox but I guess it's also plug and play with game consoles as well.
