Above is a photo taken in 1956 of a 5MB hard drive being loaded onto a Pan AM plane. Yes, that is correct, the total capacity of the entire hard drive was 5 MB, and the drive weighed over 2,000 pounds. Sure makes you appreciate your 2GB (or larger) USB thumb drive!
