Forum's sleepy, y'all. My dingy is a 7.9' Zodiac rigid inflatable with an aluminum hull. It weighs about 70lbs. The motor pictured is a 3.5hp Tohatsu, which I have recently replaced with a 6hp Tohatsu. With me alone in the boat and a cooler of beer, I can get up on a plane and hit about 12-13kts depending on sea state. With my wife in the boat (and still a cooler of beer) I can only get up to about 5-6kts and move at displacement speeds only, no planing. My wife is about 120lbs so don't start. This Zodiac is the dingy for my Hans Christian 33 sailboat, but I like to use it like a personal watercraft when I'm not sailing.
