I bought a jeep last summer. It's a 2016 JKU Sport S, 6spd MT with basic trim level options. No heated seats or leather but I'd rather it didn't have those, it's a Jeep. The previous owner installed a 2.5" spring lift from Teraflex, nothing special but at least it doesn't handle like a turd and can clear 35's. Previous owner also regeared, I haven't looked in the diffs yet but online charts have me guesstimating somewhere around 4.10 gears. It turns the 35" tires over pretty nice. I've pulled two semi trucks with it so far. Having 4wd in my area isn't a must but it sure makes it easy to get places and feels great knowing I'm not going to get stuck unless I really try to.

I added a winch a couple weeks ago. I found I could do it with a bolt on plate which doesn't require any modification to the bumper. It's a pretty slick design which bolts into two factory slots on my frame rails just behind the bumper. The winch itself is the best rated budget model which I think I can trust, a Smittybilt 9500lb xrc3 with steel cable. Install was only hard because I didn't have an 18mm 1/2" drive deep well for some reason.

I registered it as an offroad vehicle, so any open trails in our state forests are open to me. It's not like they weren't before, I just didn't know I had to have it registered, heh. I plan on doing more camping and possibly taking a trip up to Alaska in the next few years. I've heard Canada has some great trails as well. Being Minnesotan kinda feels like we're a part of Canada anyway, eh?

I had an older Grand Cherokee, straight 6. Really liked it. We got flooded from a hurricane and unfortunately the jeep didn't survive.

I dig the tires, rims and winch.

I had a hard time finding a regular cherokee or cherokee sport several years ago that wasn't rusted out due to the salt we put on the roads up here. If I had found one with a decent body and frame I most likely would have got it instead.

That straight six is the thing of legends. Non-formal cults are built around the 4.0L, from what I've read.
