Not meaning to hijack this thread but here I go.
Michigan is an amazing state! Almost every single car was American made. The people were polite and happy. I went there for a reunion for Bravo Company, 2nd Platoon, 2/6 Infantry. All of the guys I fought with in Iraq. We stayed at http://rivieraresortonhoughtonlake.com/. Here is the best part of all.

Cali was once a place I wanted to visit (childhood friend moved there), but it seems like a shithole in some places. People (especially those in gov/state power) need to buck up and not give into these silly demands/revert their r*tarded laws.

Both of my AR-15's I built from a lower 80 have bullet buttons. Those I do believe are now illegal? All of my magazines are 30 rounders which are also now illegal. I gave up long ago trying to be compliant with my firearms because every damn year it's some new bullshit. It becomes such a financial burden trying to keep up. I am not swapping out either one of the lower receivers nor am I surrendering any of my 30 round magazines. They have so many gun control laws on the books that they don't enforce, it seems pointless to keep passing more laws. Unless of course you understand gun control isn't their objective. They want to ban all firearms. Even the purchase of ammunition requires a background check in California. It's an uber-liberal, gun hating, sanctuary and welfare state that's more concerned with protecting criminals who violate our countries federal immigration laws and sovereignty that they do keeping US Citizens safe. When I decided to stay in Germany after my enlistment in the Army ended, the first thing I did was obtain a work permit. It was expensive and if I displaced a single German worker it would not be approved. I also learned the language so I could assimilate into their society. It's called being respectful. Citizenship is important! It defines an individual's relationship to his country and thus strikes chords of nationalism and personal responsibility, duty and rights. Enough out of me.

I grew up there and the nature is nice, but MI is a lot like a 3rd world country in a lot of ways.

Don't know why you would eauate "American made" vehicles with an area being nice. Everything is interconnected and no vehicle is purely American made. Plus many are just really poor quality.

Interesting.

You know Michigan is a federal welfare state since in receives more federal dollars then its residents pay.

Whereas California pays more in federal tax dollars than it receives back.

Michigan is a beneficiary of the taxes California pays. Alone with all the other liberal states like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut all who pay more in federal taxes then they receive back.

You know which state benefit from these liberal states?

All the poor conservative states such as South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky and West Virginia to name a few. These states all receive more than two times the benefit in federal tax dollars.

Michigan is the top car manufacturing state in the country. I didn't see any Mercedes, BMW's, I saw one Volvo. The fact that almost every car there was either Ford, Chrysler or GM was very impressive. You will not find that level of support for anything in California.

I bought my wife a Honda Pilot recently. It was either the Honda or a Ford Flex. I wanted the Ford but my wife went with the Honda because it seats 8 compared to the Ford which seats 7. She has a large Portuguese family and insisted the extra seat was necessary.

I also own a 1987 Dodge D150 with a 5.9-liter V-8. What an great truck!
