This post goes out to Low Country and anyone else who may find it useful. It shows you how to make custom config file to more tailor the game play to your liking. It's an old video, so some of the game settings may be different, but the custom config part is the most important.
This link also goes out to anyone who wants to know the specifics about G-sync ,V-sync and Smart Sync.
Hopes this helps anyone who is interested.

Only for people who are not aware of this.

FOV (Soldier) 74 (Hor+90) and FOV (Vehicle) 74 (Hor+90) is only for 16:9 and not for 16:10 or 4:3 monitors. FYI.

For some reason, BF4 reverts your in-game refresh rate automatically back to 60Hz even after you set it to a higher rate and save it.

For those who have a Monitor with a refresh rate over 60Hz, check your game video settings and the advance display setting to see if it matches your desired Hz.

For example, my Monitor is a 1920x1080p @ 240Hz. The BF4 game video settings are set at 1920x1080 240.00Hz.

See my pics for more info.

This is my BF4 User.cfg file that I use.

Thx. for the info.

I only used my user.cfg file to max out my Frames per second (FPS). Without the cfg file, I get 200 fps. Still good for my 1080Ti because the Max Hz designed for that GPU is 240 Hz anyway.

In 2007/08 I did a lot of config files for my COD 4 MW when I was into it, but now, not so much.

Now, the SUAV is my bowie and it wants to meet new friends like you. :ROFLMAO:

I have mine set to display FPS and keep FPS at 60. Tried that to see if I could add a little efficiency when playing at higher rez with slightly better graphics. It mainly makes the youtube uploads look a little better. Not so sure I'm freeing up resources by capping framerate..

In BF4, I get 200 fps without a max fps cap and with it I get 239 fps, so I max it out for shits and giggles.

The 1080Ti gpu (max 240hz) I have is matched to my 1080p 27” monitor (240hz) ran by a high-end pc I built in 2018 for upcoming BF games. I have plenty of power and resources to make crazy changes and max shit out.

Capping at the highest rate will suck the shit out of your available resources. Test your pc and find the sweet spot between psu, cpu, memory and gpu capability. No bottle necks is always ideal.

I had 2 pc’s, one for testing and one for gaming so if I crashed the test pc, I still have the other for work and gaming.

I always play around with the perimeters to make sure I don’t leave any power/graphics capabilities on the table.
