Halloween Tales from an old man

Service mission.
Servie OSC, TRO and injunction on a rich sob before midnight. Service is in woodland hills off Zelzah or something like that. Was 22 years old and with wife at the time, ex later. We have no kids yet. Means we have no fear like any 20 something. We in a new Bonnevil. Am adept enough at hunting rich folks down. I rent cars at enterprise rent car. Reasons? Well, nothing gives you away, then staking out a house in the same car lol. So when you have rentals, the defendant will. Wil go crazy, expecting some person is staking them out. In different cars. Never stake out in front of the house, go down a few houses and face the other way. You rear end facing the defs house. The folks I served were rich, so they lived in quiet hoods.

I
It's about 10:30pm, we got lost getting there. No one has invented the internet, let alone Google Maps.
So I drive, and my wife checks at Thomas Bros maps and tells me left, right, no your other right. We get there. I park a couple houses down. All the lights are off at his house. Wife blurts out something's wrong. I take her opinion seriously as mine. She can tell in seconds if we're being followed. I always look at the defendant's house a bit before approaching. Even today in bf4 I like to camp a little and assess the situation before running in and getting killed, as is my Wont haha.

We head in so quiet that we can pass dogs and cats and not rouse them. We have been sleeping on the beach on weekends and practice treading on damp sand sand next to the tides, and not leaving footsteps. For fun, we go to police stations in Valley, pass the police at front desks, unnoticed, and go into the station CO's office and ask if they need hep serving papers. LOL, omg some got so fucking mad, other Caps hired us.

Anyway, as we approach the door. We hear a voice above us. It's the guy on the balcony. Totally missed it right. He chuckles, says "you fucks know what time it is?" My wife has her hand, my arm, and she's digging in hard. He goes on, "go cry like the others". I shot back, you threating a Judge's order, sir.? He laughs and says bring your judge, he can cry here too. I kinda yell, Hey Mr. So I can identify you in court. He laughed and said "careful Son, you be lying, and he repeated lying." My wife freaked at that and pulled me back to the car.

What happens next is the Truth on my Sister's Soul, which passed 4 years ago. I write this for anybody to get caught up, is this fucking weird shit? This may help. Survivors tend to do that. Continued 3:30 am tomorrow. The memories kinda fuck ya up a bit. Never say Toby didn't adore his AARP Clan

ove us. It's the guy on the balcony. Totally missed it right. He chuckles, says "you fucks know what time it is?" My wife has her hand, my arm, and she's digging in hard. She was super scared and screaming to leave now. I was like wtf right? As we drove down the hill, she's yelling, who were you talking to? I was shocked, didn't you see him on the balcony? She stared to cry, said yes, I heard him too, but there was nobody standing there baby. She screams pointing in front. I it the brakes hard come with inches of hitting the mountain wall? I glance in the rear window, I notice the cars parked next to the homes we passed, and am like what happen to the street. Needless to say, my "partner" has now officially lost it. I jump out of the car. I can see the 5 houses we just passed. Then everything goes in slow motion, just like in Mexico City 2 years before.

The houses faded away, and it's so dark and cold. I can hear my wife yelling in the car to get in. I can't move. Commig straight at me are cowboys, I guess. Can't grasp them, solely black shadows of men on horses, barely stepping slowly right at me. I try to run, but am frozen in fear, I guess. They move straight toward me. Then they touched me the dead touched me. Feels like when you are in the ocean waiting for a wave, and a strong swell moves you back a bit. They are riding straight to the car and into the hillside that I almost hit. I turn to look in back of me from where they had come from. I can hear men and women screaming with so many gunshots. See dust clouds. Then the wife is screaming it's open. I yell fuck, it's open, and I run to the car, the hillside is gone, and I tear out of that hell.

Couple years ago, I watched those twilight zone marathons on for memorial day with Pops. I freak out of an episode about 3 guys in the 50's tank soldiers in a tank in the Midwest doing training. They are separated from the main unit. They wander in their tank, End up in the battle of little Big Horn, End of show it shows a plaque in memory of the men who died in Custer last stand, and the names of tank soldiers lost in the 50's are in plaque. Oh yeah, when the 3 guys watched the battle of the ridge, they knew instantly it was Custer's last stand. So they were like yes, we have a freaking tank right. But the tank didn't work so. They said fuck it, and jumped over the ridge to fight a battle over 150 years old.

I now had travelled to a different place at a different time. While standing there rooted in reality, not moving. Only similarity to the Twilight show was the sounds of screaming and gunfire. I wanted and maybe would have gone to inspect, but I'll never know.
