Ok....I'm new to the hardcore side of BF4 and I'm curious about the fact that:
  • No hit indicator............√
  • No minimap..................√
  • No auto health regen.....√
  • No auto vehicle regen.....√
  • No spotting...................√
  • No spawning (for me) on teammates...√

All that.....But handheld radar rockets, vehicle radar, and Soflams which allow no aim fire and forget kills are ok. What's hard or challenging about that?

AA's , tanks, lav's, and foot soldier's should have to actually aim to hit something. (IMHO)

I see some "Extreme" hardcore servers. ....do those have more restrictions?

...I dunno....just asking...like I said, I'm new to this.

Well, besides all that u already describe, u have friendlyfire on, means if some cross your aim path, you will kill him too

All radars tugz, detectors works, but not spot available

The insanity of this, is u hear everything, but unless someone's givin you direction of the shooting will be hard to spot to shoot

Claymore, mines, slams, evrything will kill friend or not

Hardcore settings have a preconfigured button by the server provider. I havent tried to go off recipe yet. Although it easy configured. We have less tickets now from feedback.

Thanks. And i looked into the mini map spotting being on. It seems like most hardcore servers run it that way.

And Hey.....I'm enjoying the server very much.

My post is really more about the nuance of hardcore mode and can it be tweaked to make it even harder so kills are earned by talent, not radar.

The games have been CRAZY long though but we are doing something about it so that's being fixed.

You don't get the little orange blip above their head, however they're still marked on full map along with spot assists etc. That alone takes plenty of skill, enough to not be tweaked out.

Also you guys should be wary of driving vehicles off cliffs etc as they will take "more" damage than usual if not explode on ground contact, since everything (not just soldiers) is at 60% health multiplier.

Also in hardcore you're only able to spawn on your squad's leader which puts more emphasis on teamwork and strategy, that being said I'm 99% sure squad leaders can spawn on anyone in their squad.

I'm cool with it going towards extreme hardcore. its the only thing I enjoyed about BF1. Hardcore there was really hardcore. Nothing on the screen to indicate anything, including your own team. You had to distinguish them by uniform. Pretty intense.

I notice the same about vehicle damage.

Yes, you can only spawn on squad leader but the leader can spawn on anyone.

Awesome news, i preferred a hardcore with less tickets for faster game play and more stressing rounds

This is ExtremeDiesal place. Paid for it, seeds it, but doesn't say much. LOL

He seems very content with the way things are going. Played with him a bunch and told him to come into the forums for feedback.

He knows.

A good core of regulars are starting to take hold which is really nice.

Don't forget that your own claymores can kill you and your team mates.

Until I joined this server full time a year and a half ago, I played NOTHING but hardcore since day 1 of release. Because of that, I still don't ever use a mini map, I don't even think about using it. The only thing I don't miss about playing it is the friendly fire. As soon as an argument starts among team members, it's basically killing each other until someone gets themselves kicked, and assholes blowing up your vehicles.

I'm new to the hardcore venue, and frankly, I wish it were harder.

So far, knock on wood, we haven't had a lot of the "turn on your teammates for killing you" reprisal that I've witnessed. To my knowledge I've had 3 team kills, apologized immediately, and have had no grief from any of my FF victims. (which I appreciate)

I've never been that good to begin with, so my recent measured success in our HC server will likely be short lived. But for now, I'm trying to just get the hang of it.

For instance, in Hanger 21, because I suck at night maps, I've switched to the DMR group with FLIR and have had much better results. Never used that weapon group before but I've found its a happy medium between assault carbines/shotguns and sniper rifles. I will continue to experiment.

67 next month and learning new shit every day.....I hope the pleasure of new discovery never ends until I assume room temperature.
