Y'all know how it starts. I was going to build a new machine, but I had forgotten I was already running a 8700k. I was running a 1050 ti though and my graphics sucked. I had never overclocked the CPU since I wasn't gaming at the time. I hit the chip lottery with the CPU. When I went to overclock it I got it to 5.1Ghz. No need for a 9700k or an AMD, which is what I had originally intended.
It all starts with 1 new part, right? I put a 2080 ti 011G in the machine and runs Ultra great, but it's screaming for air, so I ordered a Thermaltake Core X9. New parts coming in this week. I'll be down for a day or 2 later this week while I install a few newer components and as many fans as I can fit in that beast of a case.
Intel 8700k: 5.2G
Asus 2080 ti 011G (1,800 Mhz is what I'm getting out of it now)
Corsair H150i AIO
Asus Maximus XI Hero
2x Samsung 1Tb 970 Pro M.2
Fans, fans, and more fans.
Geek on, brothers and sisters.
