As most of you have been hearing there has been talk of Facebook selling data to big clients. Even with our so called secret messages to each other. We must assume that is how Facebook makes money without charging us for posting funny pics. So it goes without saying that nothing is free. Somehow we users will be mined for whatever lint we have in our pockets.

Recently I had been looking some faster memory ram sticks. I was on my PC selecting one on Amazon web site and added to my cart, but never paid for it. The next day I see the same ram stick being advertised on my iPad! I know that I always logout of Facebook so it should not have been active. I've noticed that with I bring up the Facebook tab, there is a little notification letting me know I have a like!

This indicates that Facebook on PC is always active. Checking up on what we look at or search for. Carefull of what you look for. Like penis enlargers or nudes of Stryker! That shit might be added to your newsfeed!

Let me say it again. *******Fuck FacebooK******* Stupid ass sheep!

Thanks Gunney for the opportunity to preach to people about abandoning that shit.

Wake up and you will feel better...... Promise.

There is likely some information sharing between the two companies, but Deep Learning Algorithms are creepily accurate, even knowing what we want, before we want it. There's this story about a father who yelled at Target (the retail chain) for putting Baby Goods in his receipt coupons, since (as far as he knew) there was no one in the house expecting a kid. However, it turned out his daughter had gotten pregnant without him knowing, and it had simply figured it out by some random purchases on her part... before he did.

Additionally, the people who design the DLAs, say they don't know how it comes to the conclusions it does, based on the input.

Deleted Facebook back in 2014. I 100% agree with wiz FUCK FACEBOOK.

They use super cookies, so whether or not you are logged in they are tracking everything you do on the internet. They build there tracking software into "partner" companies so you can delete Facebook cookies but they still find a way to track what you are doing. I got rid of it after I suspected they were turning on my phones microphone.

I think most if not all the social media apps are shady AF. I deleted all that shit years ago too.

Reminds me of a poker analogy. If you're sitting around a poker table and you don't know who the fish it. you're the fish.

When it comes to social media, you are not the client you are the product.

The only time I ever used anything "social media" was when our son was going back an forth from Afghanistan. Once he got out, I dropped FB like a hot rock.

Nice Pics Biker and in that case being tracked for advertising is well work the price of being able to communicate with your kids while they are overseas.

Was he able to bring the cat back with him to the states?

Except for his time over there, I've never done FB, Twitter, instagram, snapchat, myspace, or any damn thing else.

This forum is about it for me as far as interacting online...... and its among friends....or so I've been told.

Amazon, FB, twitter and the others likely have a marketing agreement that allows them to share this info. Im sure payments are exchanged at one point or another but for the most part these guys are all in bed with each other. If you closed FB on your browser and without closing the browser opened amazon and did some window shopping then yeah, FB probably saw what you were seeing on Amazon which is truly scary. It would be interesting to see what types of tests can be conducted to isoltate exactly how FB is aquiring marketing info once a user leaves the web site.
