A server I used to be an admin on had a script set up to write a message whenever a member joined. The message described status or a notable trait. For example the owner was "The Big Cheese" and I had "Caution will make you rage".
It worked really well and we got a lot of laughs out of it. Regular players on the server even contacted us and asked if they could get a message too.
I was thinking this could be a running gag on the server and just serve as a laugh to cheer people up and maybe others can get to know us - the members better.
Please let me know what your thoughts are.
