Hi again!

Curious if your current rig's CPU & GPU are playing nice with each other or maybe one is choking the other into submission while trying to avoid jsimpson dildos? Well, I might have stumbled across a site of interest for you!

PC-BUILDS.COM have a calculator that can give you a rough estimate if your system has a favourable combination of CPU and GPU power.

Also, if you're planning to upgrade or build a new rig you can plug in the hardware info and get the results!

I did mine, also out of curiosity, and as I suspected my rig was well balanced for the BF4 gaming experience!
Obviously, many factors will determine the results but it gives you a general idea and you can even test it for FPS.

Go ahead and try yours and please share the results with the AARP community!

I’m throwing the Becky card, category, sus…The results are bullshit for setup, my CPU never pops above 10% in BF4 and I’m getting 200 FPS @ 1440P…. says I’m 10% bottle necked…

That could be interpreted as your GPU being overkill for 1440. When I paired your CPU & GPU with 4K the results were perfect.

What does this mean? Means you have to go shopping for a new monitor! 😅😅😅

I would like to get my hands on the AMD 3D CPU but the bits are so expensive once you piece it all together.. 4K monitor in the future for sure

I already had a good quality AM4 motherboard from years ago when I got my ryzen 5 3600. And I got a good price on the 5800x3d, so it was just plug n' play. The extra L3 cache certainly helps with certain games. For me, I got it for Balder's Gate 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2. I use FSR for both of those, so having a more powerful CPU with extra L3 cache helps a lot.

Was going to get a 7950X3D / AM5 comparing the two builds for the budget I took the extra money and put it towards the 4080 Super. The only game that I would have seen a good boost in that I play is BF 2042 but I’m still getting 150-170 FPS (game is CPU hungry) on it so not sure the extra frames would give me much. Next build will certainly be AMD after Intel’s scandals with the CPU’s burning up. My CPU is on that list although the 14th generation i9’s seem to have it the worst ( they say the micro kernel code fixed the problems and I updated it). If budget wasn’t a consideration I would be running the 7950X3D and still might.

"AMD Ryzen 7 1700 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 will work great together on 3840 × 2160 pixels screen resolution for CPU Intense Tasks."

HA!

it said 10% bottleneck for cpu intensive tasks at first but it dropped to 4.5%.

0% for GPU intensive tasks.

def going to upgrade my cpu. hopefully something that can use the 32 gb of ram i have but is win 12 compatible.

Bottle neck also doesn’t mean it directly translates to experience or FPS, for example I could upgrade to 8K and have zero bottleneck on my CPU and my GPU running 100% but it would probably be 15 FPS :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: What you are shooting for is consistent smooth FPS without your CPU holding your GPU back. Perfect example of, I bought my 4080 super before my new motherboard and CPU. When I played 2042 the CPU (9th gen i7) was pegged and 100% and if anything kicked off in the background the FPS would drop and the game would freeze up, if I tried to run Team Speak or Discord, forget it even worse. It’s one thing to leave some FPS on the table and still be in the 100 FPS + vs being completely bottle necked and ruining the gameplay. My current setup I have headroom for the more CPU intensive games, but as for BF4 I could encode a video in the background and still play, there is that much CPU left on the table.

Perhaps Santa Claus will bring me a 4k for Christmas, just not sure if I’m on the naughty or nice list.. For the most part I have played the objectives and never went to F at the start of the round or parked an AA under a power tower. Been killed enough times by Animals tank each round to keep him at the top of the leaderboard.
