As far as I understand the rule, it just means don't camp the outskirts and try and stay near the middle, not that you have to physically be inside the ABC triangle, right?

May I ask what brought this question up? The reason I ask is I’ve seen this question over the years. When asked and an answer is given, nine out of ten times it’s someone sore from being killed for camping in the AA. Just want to make sure we’re answering the right question.
Generally, the area is kind of a circle around ABC. The intent is to keep the AA, a very powerful weapon where only one exists per side, to be focused on those three point and not fucking about at E/F/G. Or D when it’s not in play.

And because some pedant will latch on to my comment about D when it’s in play. I’m talking about at the beginning of the game when everyone rushes D (or should be).
And because y’all are looking at this post (because everyone loves AA rule discussions) please use the !report player name reason function. And please encourage others to do so.
I can’t speak for all the admins, but when I’m trying to play and everyone is bitching about the aa, it’s not like I have magic powers to determine who the aa is. Often times, I can see it but I can’t see who is in in it. And dammit, I don’t want to exit the game to go spec just to deal with AA. Some games I will attempt to get to the enemy side to get the name of the AA and get picked off by some camping AH or LAV.
I know people say !report does noting (even clan members have said this). But !reports are logged to admin channel in discord. We all see them. And if we can’t deal with them in the moment, they still are noted. We often compare notes on people who are habitual offenders and act accordingly.

Oh I just wanted clarification because I've seen a few other dedicated AA players who seem to think if the AA isn't in the exact triangle of ABC, it's a reason to constantly spam chat yelling at whoever is in the AA. I've also seen instances where people were insistent that the AA could only SHOOT at targets above ABC because of the wording of the rule so having this post to point them towards was the goal lol
The AA get blamed for everything. I very seldom look where the AA is unless its in the early AM when the server i just starting up. Ive seen the AA back up to repair and the minute he does he gets yelled at for not moving up. I just stay out of it. lol
The old saying is true...Playing the AA is like holding the flashlight for your dad while he fixes something. No matter how you do it, you're doing it wrong and you're going to get yelled at.
