Sorry for not being online much the last few days. Been Busy.

Working on a new project. Obtained a small computer called the Raspberry Pi. I'm using it to load in software to play old arcade games from various consoles. Software is called Retropie. Right now I have about 20 old games and I'm playing them on my old computer monitor and when I'm ready I'll transfer this mini computer to my 1Up Arcade console!

Why are they sideways????

Well Master, if you need it I just could upload my collection of MAME games, it's about 25gb of games, of course is anyone need it

Sideways because iphone lol

Have fun, . Im currently building my fifth pi cabinet to run a multicab driving. Will be a Pole Position them using orginal Pole Position control panel and wheel.

Oh boy! I need to talk with you about the pi! Some of the larger games wont play on my Raspberry. I've got version 3B+. Should have 1 gig memory. Do you think all the extra stuff in it is limiting me from playing some of the newer roms? I finally got Mari Cart 64, but the resolution since to very low regards of the screen settings. I'll post a screen shot.

nice , I'm using those for all sorts of things around the house..

N64 games never looked good, perhaps back in the 90's when you first saw them , lol..

A lot of 90s games are too demanding. 1 gig memory is fine. Pi 4 will probably run most of this stuff some day.
All my pole position parts are in shipping.

Well, i do want to get another Raspberry pi to control my train layout. I hear some folks using it to run JMRI to run their layout. That will be next month's project.

Still in the learning stage of understanding what can be done with Retropie to run the old games. Wanting to put it in this 1UP Arcade cabinet of mine for simple games for the grandchildren. Can the individual game controls be set for joystick instead of the D pad? The Arcade cabinet has only the joystick with some buttons.

I tried retro-pi with the first model when it was first released, I kicked off the script and it took 18hrs to complete, kid you not, the newer ones are so much faster, I can't wait to get my hands on the 4, it does sound like there are a few bugs for them to work out with the 4 like heat and and a USB bug, but aside from that it's crazy how much power they are packing .. The older models are still relevant for doing other projects since they draw less power and can be used for off grid projects running on batteries and or solar power / recharge ...

Tons of cool stuff on Adafruit's website..

Although not user-friendly all the time it can be configured anyway you want

FYI
Pi 4 is out and devs are building software as we speak. Should run all the 90s games easily now.

Yep my brother-in-law just picked up a few of the Pi4s with 4gigs of ram. You can do tons of shit with them now. Super powerful for the price.
