Banned For Killing With Jets

As the title says, I was banned not long ago for using jets. The banning admin was indeed Redkilla. The situation is as follows.

I join the server, I hop into the attack jet on the CN side and i rack up a few kills. I see the enemy AA and drop a jdam bomb on top of it, luckily for me they were parked on/near an IED granting me the kill on impact. The player who happened to be using the AA was Redkilla. Immediately following, in chat I received a snide comment from Red, saying along the lines of "Panda, if you're just going to rage, leave now". In return I state "sorry, for dropping a bomb on you when you were parked on an IDE." Immediately I am kicked.

Afterwards I rejoin, and ask if in chat if that was really warranted? No answer given. So I brush off the kick and play in a tank for a while. Then later on I see a stealth jet is available to use. So once again, I fly and try to rack up some more points. I see the AA on the hill and fire a laser guided missile. The missile hits and destroys the AA. I find out once again Redkilla was the player using the AA. Immediately after, I get banned by him.

My question is not directly why I was banned but rather why was i banned for fairly using a vehicle that is provided on that map? It's not like the server was dead nor was the server lopsided teams wise. If anything my team had 2 of the 7 objectives when i was in the stealth jet, so it's not as if it was driving people away, not to mention there was 20+ people online at the time, which was more than any other Golmud server at the time on the North American region.

Pretty much every time I play in jets, assuming Red is online and on the opposing team, I receive rude comments because of my flying. When there's a decent pilot on his side I don't see any complaints vocalized in chat. I don't purposely ram, I rarely speak in chat unless addressed to first, I play the objective along with my team.

Please enlighten me to what is wrong with me flying jets and getting kills, as opposed to using only the AA/Tanks? Also I'd appreciated if you'd give me a reason for the ban and then consider that perhaps this particular ban was indeed unwarranted, in that no server rules were violated.

You were warned about jet raging in a low populated server, I was getting blasted with complaints to the point where I couldn't play and people were leaving. The moment you were kicked the server started to fill up. Our server population is more important than your selfish need to jet rage. I didn't get up at 330am to seed the server and get it going just to have someone come in and clear it out.

Your ban has been lifted.

From your perspective, I understand your point. Just playing your normal game this seems unfair I'm guessing. Let me try to give you some back ground.

Long ago, we use to have a low population rule for jets. When the server was under 1 year old, we simply didn't have enough people joining in to sustain seasoned jet pilots. We would try to get the server rolling but ace pilots would come in and shut the server down. It was fun for them to dominate. I get it. But our core group would put hours of server startup time to seed the server only to be fodder for jet elites. Keep in mind we have families, kids and full time jobs to juggle.

This morning the server was a bit grumpy, plus my seeder computers were not running because I was working on my home network. It was harder than usual to get a sustained group. Redkilla got up at 3:30am in his time zone to start the server. Personally I think he's insane and should stay in bed. lol But he is passionate about our server/platoon. Now, I also hazed him with the jet early morning, not sure he realized it. Typically I try ramming him repeatedly. I do it because it's fun to piss him off but that's kinda our special thing. Really today I wasn't trying to kill him or anyone, just soften his team up to extend the game to use up all the tickets. Maybe added irritation bonus to Redkilla. So perhaps I help set that up. Sorry!

Why all this info? Just try to understand the frustrations we have keep this server afloat. Running servers is not fun. If redkilla, reddawn and jsimpson request to tone down the jets until we get a good group going, please consider the request. I think we are reasonable and are willing to discuss problems. We don't hold grudges, but that's mostly because we have the memory capacity of gold fish at this point. Feel free to keep the conversation going or squad up with us. We could all use a new friend.

Perhaps in the future it would be nice to actually have someone kindly ask me to not use jets until the population is higher. "Jet rage" is a term in which i've not heard anyone use before, to me that sounds like someone who complains about others using jets, not a good pilot going on a massacre. I don't consider my like and use of jets to be selfish, anymore than people who only use tanks or the AA. However that being said, I will make a mental note to not use the attack or stealth jet until you have a decent amount of players online. Which to me would be equal to or more than 50%(32p) of your total player count capacity. If you object to that, please let me know.
