Ban Appeal

Hello, I'm writing to appeal an apparent ban from your Golmud map mix server. When I try to join, battlelog displays an error in which it says that I am banned for cheating (my BL name is muncho4). I do not know what exactly made an admin think I was cheating, so I cannot provide direct evidence on that front, but I have a decent amount of recorded gameplay I can show. If there is a specific thing that I did which you think was suspicious, please let me know so that I can explain it.

I have played this game now for over 1200 hours and I'm sure I despise cheaters as much as you do. I take this game very seriously (far too seriously) and really enjoy improving at it, which is why I would never cheat. I have played this game in some small competitive tournaments etc.

so judging from your profile, my guess is you were banned for being a Jet Bitch.... (just a guess) Clearly you are good in the jet. People that are good with jets tend to shut down servers by driving off players. The Jet is too powerful and if the pilot is good, he can avoid the AA and other jets. when a jet pilot goes on a run and rage kills over 50 on continual basis, I will usually ban them to prevent harming our player population and I feel it is a fair ban. get in a tank or helo for a bit and mix it up.

that said, you were not banned by our admins. It looks like you pissed off an admin on another server and he/she banned you. do you know what other server you are banned from? My opinion is that you will need to take this up with them. the other admins from our server can weigh in but that is my opinion.

I generally do mix it up based on the situation, map etc. Also I don't really enjoy super unbalanced games, so I'll usually switch to the losing team if it gets too bad.

It seems like I was banned from a few servers all at once and it doesn't really make sense. Do you guys all share a ban list or something? I am also banned from PBJ and Area 51, and I'm pretty sure I was banned from all 3 at the same time because the ban reason is exactly the same (Cheating). If you guy do share a ban list, can you just not share it anymore? I can't appeal it from the other two servers because they don't have a website, teamspeak, or anything linked on their server page (or when I google the server name).
 
I do believe BAG (the PBJ owners) have a website. Unfortunately, I can't remember the url but it should be BadAssGamers.net or something similar. I suggest you try to get in contact with DaSpotLite and see what he says.

If you have no success I'll see what I can do since they've slowly cut me out of the admin circle I don't think I can remove you from the list myself but I can speak with DaSpotLite for you once I get back from my vacation.
 
so I would neither confirm or deny that such magic exists.... but if it did exist, it would be WONDERFUL to help stop cheaters and hackers!

this finally is making sense. This explains why I was suddenly banned on a few others servers at the time when I was appealing my ban here. The ban message on all of them is exactly the same: "cheating... spec only" whatever that means.

The problem with your ban sharing system is that when you ban someone, say for having a decent kill streak and not for actual cheating, that ban propagates to the other servers, but when you lift the ban (like mine), the ban lift doesn't get passed on to the rest. So I have to explain on those other servers that I was banned on a different server for having a good game, and the ban message is incorrect for saying cheating, etc. etc.

I get ban sharing for actual cheaters, but not for this kinda stuff.
 
I will let one of the big dons get back to you in full but from what I know we have now stopped sharing our ban list as it makes it really tricky to keep track of who was banned for what, on which server and by which admin.

Other people have said the same about this ban sharing and from my point of view they are right.

PS if you were playing on the PBJ servers and you were banned there (my assumption based on the fact none of our admins here said that they banned you) I might know who banned you if you want to speak with him and get your ban lifted on the two PBJ servers.
