Hi fellas,

I didn't find a ban appeal section in the forums so hopefully this is a good place to post this.

I just found out that I've been banned on your server. The reason stated on battlelog is "cheating, spec only". While I'm unsure what the second part means, I don't cheat and never have.

Here is my battlelog link
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/soldier/_i_D3FuS3R_i_/stats/802841822/pc/

I'd like to know exactly why I was banned. Let me know if you need any other info.

Thank you,
defuser

Apparently you completely decimated our server and drained it. I was told you were warned and then you were admin killed, then came back and just spectated. Your ban will be lifted, but we cant have you decimating our server.

:D First time I get banned for decimating a server, usually it's some soft of unfounded hackusation.
Thanks for lifting the ban.

If I may make a suggestion about the way I was banned. Getting 'killed by admin', in itself, doesn't mean anything to a player. It's happened to me many times for different reasons, sometimes done by a real admin, sometimes by a procon plugin. If someone had actually communicated to me in-game what I was doing wrong instead of killing me 'by admin' and then banning me, there is no way I would've continued what I was doing. Communication can go a long way.

Btw, if I got banned for draining your server in a tank on Shanghai (i don't do much else), I can only imagine how you feel about all the chopper whores that plague that map.

Anyway, thank you.

It is quite rare to see a tank decimate on Shanghai. Usually we only see the really good chopper pilots decimate on Shanghai. Once they're done fighting each other they usually kill off the hostile tanks which sucks because their kills keep going up while yours tend to stay as they are.

I do love a fun round of decimating a team and most of the chat reactions are just as funny.

Kudos to you for doing it on Shanghai! I'd love to play with you sometime.

PS I like to smoke meth a lot

Thank you for taking the time to post up. Quite honestly looking at your stats they look like suspicious. If you were coming into the server just to make kills, drain population and not participate in capturing flags and winning games then I'm not really excited about having you. BF4 has a huge community of cheaters and people that want to beat down servers. Hope you realize we are trying to keep the server running, it's not personal.

My K/D is currently 3.37 which is quite low compared to most players of my caliber *cough* Simpson *cough*

I have been working on it for the past couple months and I've brought it up from the crappy 0.55 I used to have lol.

I love this game so much and sometimes I don't find it any fun to go on a rampage and get some kills I do like to have all kinds of fun and just mess about with my friends. This usually kills my K/D :( but on average my K/D sits at about 5.0 every round.

Defuser does have a rather high skill and score per minute which would suggest that he plays for the objective - great stuff!

all-time KD is 5.8, and KD is 13 on battlelog since my last stat reset. That's after I switched from playing infantry to driving tanks. And yes, I'm very good at it! ;)

Btw, I don't get #1 on a server from NOT playing the objective. Players who cap flags get more points than players who only get kills. I do both. Keep in mind that I do all this in a tank, so I have no choice BUT to get most of my kills on flags. So yes, I end most rounds having capped or defended more flags than most players on my team. It's not like chopper whores who just fly around and shoot from the sky and do nothing else.

Not that killing enemies is not playing the objective. I'm tired of hearing this argument. Killing is not only one of the main objectives of this game, but it drains enemy tickets, which is playing the objective. Say what you want, but having a tank rolling from flag to flag mowing down a crapload of enemies is something you want on your side!

Undertaker, I'm sure we'll get a chance to play together bud. You can find me on Shanghai shooting down choppers :) I love your signature btw.

I can't agree more! That argument infuriates me because I usually get called out for whoring kills and not helping my team even though I usually top the scoreboard because I cap flags.

A stat reset will definitely boost your K/D. That also explains why your majority of kills are in a tank and you don't seem to have very many.

I'll be looking forward to seeing you around though we'd have to be careful not to scare everyone away lol

P.S. I'm glad you like my signature. It's just a little something I've come up with after the waves and waves of hackusations.

Yep! If I end a round with a 100 kills, that means I've personally drained 100 tickets from the other team. Talk about playing the objective. That's in addition to the fact that many of the kills result in flag caps and defends. So, if the objective is to help your team win, you want as many of your enemies dead, period.

Now, I should probably take the time to respond more fully to jsimpson32's concerns:

Thank you for taking the time to post up. Quite honestly looking at your stats they look like suspicious.

About my stats being suspicious, I have nothing much to say about that. I can only refer you to Undertaker's signature phrase (see above). I know from personal experience that an admin's job is difficult. I myself have banned players, some mistakenly, based on suspicious stats. Over time I got better at recognizing actual cheaters, and I still do what I can to catch and report them. When I see a cheater in action, I record them if I can and report them on battlelog and on the server page. Cheaters are a scourge and need to burn in hell.

If you were coming into the server just to make kills, drain population and not participate in capturing flags and winning games then I'm not really excited about having you.

I do go to your server, and any other servers, to get kills just like everyone else. I make no apologies for that - it's what the game is about. I also do anything else that I can to help my team win. Just because I have a high KDR doesn't mean I ONLY get kills. I know it's tempting to jump to that conclusion.

On a related note, here's something to ponder on. If your real concern is whether I help my team, what would you have to say, for example, about a sniper who spends the entire round on a rooftop trying to snipe people, and maybe gets several kills the whole game. Would you ban that player for not playing the objective or helping his team? Would you ban all snipers, who never go anywhere near a flag? My guess is that you wouldn't, even though that's happening all the time. Sniping is a perfectly legitimate way to play the game, but it doesn't meet most people's criteria of PTFO. The truth is, you don't even notice those players because they end the round with a low score on the report, and you don't question what they did for the team. The only reason you're questioning my team play, or objective play, is because of my high KDR; because if I get a lot of kills, that must be all I'm doing. The thing is, EVEN if that were true, and there's nothing wrong with that, that alone would make me more useful to my team than the sniper who spends the round on a rooftop and gets a few kills, maybe.

Btw, it drives me crazy when I see someone camping in a tank/LAV on the waterfront behind flag A (Shang), just shooting at stuff out of the base. Now that's something I would kick for. Talk about a waste.

Now, regarding draining the server, I do agree that's a problem, when it happens. From my days of being an admin in a relatively small clan, I know how difficult it can be to keep a server populated. Still, I go back to my previous response to Redkilla - if the admin had actually talked to me instead of banning me, I'd be more than happy to comply, and either tone down my kill spree or leave voluntarily. After all, if my only objective were to get kills, as you suggest, draining the server wouldn't be in my best interest.

And Jsimpson, if you're still not excited about having me on your server, by all means keep the ban. I wouldn't want to play on a server where I'm not welcome in the first place. I just wanted to know why I was banned, so thanks for letting me know. I was expecting the usual reasons, e.g. suspected cheating etc., in which case I would've certainly tried to defend myself. But if I'm harming your server just by being too good, well you don't have to worry about me. From one admin to another.

Cheers. ;)

I agree with all of your points. I'm sure Jsimpson and the rest of our admins will agree with you. They're just trying to do their jobs and you can't be too careful , hackers are springing up out of the woodwork.

An overall K/D over 10 is usually associated with hackers which, as I've mentioned before, have been more plentiful recently.

Anyways a stat reset will definitely see an increase in overall K/D so I can understand why yours is so high.

PS
I want to have Simpson's kids

You can reset your stats?

:). Battlelog profile settings > soldier menu. Make sure to let your admins know about this. This was an option back in BF3.
You can reset certain stats in BattleLog only, like KDR, W/L ratio and some others. This does not however erase the all-time stats on BF4stats.com, so don't worry about that :)

Defuser..I must say you have taken an absorbent amount of time justifying your stats and your game play. Most cheaters wouldn't even waste their time. I have not played against you but I am looking forward to doing so.
I have been gaming and running servers since Soldier of Fortune 2 came out(which was May of 2002) I am not the greatest BF 4 player at all, but if you're better than me you must be hacking. lol

I never take the time to look at stuff like that. I just like to come home, make a Honey Jack and coke and play. :) I still don't even know how to change the color of my crosshairs
