Yep! If I end a round with a 100 kills, that means I've personally drained 100 tickets from the other team. Talk about playing the objective. That's in addition to the fact that many of the kills result in flag caps and defends. So, if the objective is to help your team win, you want as many of your enemies dead, period.
Now, I should probably take the time to respond more fully to jsimpson32's concerns:
Thank you for taking the time to post up. Quite honestly looking at your stats they look like suspicious.
About my stats being suspicious, I have nothing much to say about that. I can only refer you to Undertaker's signature phrase (see above). I know from personal experience that an admin's job is difficult. I myself have banned players, some mistakenly, based on suspicious stats. Over time I got better at recognizing actual cheaters, and I still do what I can to catch and report them. When I see a cheater in action, I record them if I can and report them on battlelog and on the server page. Cheaters are a scourge and need to burn in hell.
If you were coming into the server just to make kills, drain population and not participate in capturing flags and winning games then I'm not really excited about having you.
I do go to your server, and any other servers, to get kills just like everyone else. I make no apologies for that - it's what the game is about. I also do anything else that I can to help my team win. Just because I have a high KDR doesn't mean I ONLY get kills. I know it's tempting to jump to that conclusion.
On a related note, here's something to ponder on. If your real concern is whether I help my team, what would you have to say, for example, about a sniper who spends the entire round on a rooftop trying to snipe people, and maybe gets several kills the whole game. Would you ban that player for not playing the objective or helping his team? Would you ban all snipers, who never go anywhere near a flag? My guess is that you wouldn't, even though that's happening all the time. Sniping is a perfectly legitimate way to play the game, but it doesn't meet most people's criteria of PTFO. The truth is, you don't even notice those players because they end the round with a low score on the report, and you don't question what they did for the team. The only reason you're questioning my team play, or objective play, is because of my high KDR; because if I get a lot of kills, that must be all I'm doing. The thing is, EVEN if that were true, and there's nothing wrong with that, that alone would make me more useful to my team than the sniper who spends the round on a rooftop and gets a few kills, maybe.
Btw, it drives me crazy when I see someone camping in a tank/LAV on the waterfront behind flag A (Shang), just shooting at stuff out of the base. Now that's something I would kick for. Talk about a waste.
Now, regarding draining the server, I do agree that's a problem, when it happens. From my days of being an admin in a relatively small clan, I know how difficult it can be to keep a server populated. Still, I go back to my previous response to Redkilla - if the admin had actually talked to me instead of banning me, I'd be more than happy to comply, and either tone down my kill spree or leave voluntarily. After all, if my only objective were to get kills, as you suggest, draining the server wouldn't be in my best interest.
And Jsimpson, if you're still not excited about having me on your server, by all means keep the ban. I wouldn't want to play on a server where I'm not welcome in the first place. I just wanted to know why I was banned, so thanks for letting me know. I was expecting the usual reasons, e.g. suspected cheating etc., in which case I would've certainly tried to defend myself. But if I'm harming your server just by being too good, well you don't have to worry about me. From one admin to another.
Cheers.
