any input about a good one???

I have a Logitech G910 Keyboard and I like it. Almost fully RGB customizable if thats your thing. I like the G keys along the side and top that I use for VOIP and macros. Its mechanical and responsive.

My only complaint is the audio keys are permanently blue. I have no idea why they aren't RGB too.

is that the small one without keypad?

How much money do you want to spend? This keyboard was $197.00 when I bought it in 2019.

I got this Corsair K95 RGB (Platinum XT) Mechanical Gaming - Cherry Style/Brown Switches Keyboard because of its dual purpose - Gaming and Typing.

I love the 6 key macro on the left side for Cut/Paste/Copy, keypad on right side and the detachable angled palm rest.

The full-size key board is what I’ve been using for years.

The headset w/mic I got is the Logitech PRO X Gaming Headset.

I really like this keyboard too! The G keys on the side are a necessity for me. The fact that the wrist rest is removable is better than the Logitech although Ive just added a rest below it and it works fine. I got my Logitech for $90. Looks like the Corsair is about $170 right now.

I like logitech too. My mouse and headphones are logitech.

Besides the stuff I mentioned before, the final decision that really made me get it was the USB port in the back of the keyboard so I can plug in my wireless mouse receiver and it feels open and not too clutered or busy.

I changed out the key caps from black to white. I needed the contrast. Then I used the black keys for the WASD so they stand out.

Before this keyboard, I was using the cheap Corsair K55 (non-mechanical) keyboard. It has rubber dome switches. What a piece of shit that was.

I will say that if any of you haven't tried lubing the switches of your mechanical keyboards yet, give it a shot. I really like the way it smoothed out the Gateron Red switches in the RK100 keyboard I've been using lately. It was a smooth switch to start with and lubing them made it even smoother.

I have a Logitech G413 carbon keyboard that I used for about a year which was my first mechanical keyboard. I liked it and still do. It's my backup board. The Logitech mechanical switches are nice but they aren't hotswap, you have to solder them in. There are so many flavors of switches now that it's crazy the amount you have to choose from.

One thing I want in my next keyboard is a volume knob. I had a crappy ASUS board with one a couple years ago and now I can't get away from it.

You were saying about lubing the switches and I did some research and found out that my Corsair K95 is soldered too. I could, leave the switches in place and pop the switch tops off and lube it that way or just pour hot Astro-glide all over the keyboard and call it a day.

The hot swap keyboards I did see were mainly from Europe and Asia. The US like shit that's fast and cheap so they soldered the switches directly to the PCB.

Back when, I was into all that computer parts shit, builds, etc. now, I’m more of a “If it breaks, fuck-it, buy a new one”.

Why don't you buy the same Keyboard you have now, again? or do you want to upgrade to a better keyboard?

The keyboards I've researched doesn't have Photoshop built in. o_O, Sorry, I did my best.

Smart and Astro-Glyde is way better than KY and anyone who disagrees doesn't know how to fuck.

Pulling the key caps and using a small paintbrush with some paintball lube is what I did. Just a light coating inside the top of the switch, pushing down the stem with the paintbrush and mopping the top inner switch housing. Just make sure to use a lube that doesn't contain petroleum distillates, those will affect the plastic or rubber components of your board. Paintball lube is petroleum free due to the rubber orings used in the markers.

The official method is to take the switch apart and lube the stab, other areas in the underside of the switch. Nobody has time for that. I would have been hunched over my table for 2+ hours doing it that way.

From what I can tell, the only wrong way is dipping your entire keyboard in a vat of Crisco.

I also did a light coating of RTV silicone on my space bar to affect the thonk it makes. It's has a lot of hollow area underneath. Wanted something a little less hollow sounding. Worked great and the silicone is easily removeable. I'm pretty sure the keycaps I'm using are ABS plastic. I bought another set of PBT keycaps that are little heavier but I like the factory keycaps better. They look better and have a smoother feel on the cap face.

WOW, since your keyboard is working out so great, send it to me. No COD. Thats Cost on Delivery, like the rotary phone.
